The carpet is too worn out to walk on barefoot, so the room's flooring needs more attention and The dusty mini sofa requires a deep clean.

We stayed at the Ibis for a gig in London and it was exactly what we needed — cheap, cheerful and comfortable. The room was spotless, the bed was really cosy, and despite being next to a main road it was surprisingly quiet. The staff were genuinely friendly too, which made the stay feel welcoming. I did remove two stars, mainly because the walk to Barking station felt unsafe, especially at night. We’re not Londoners, but we do know areas where walking after dark feels fine — Barking just didn’t. A smaller point: when we returned, a couple of guests were smoking cannabis on the terrace, which lowered the overall standard. I appreciate it’s not always easy for staff to address, but it is still illegal.
