As it was a single night stay in order to catch the morning ferry to UK which required a check in at 07:00 hrs it was simply a bed for the night and no use of hotel restaurant or facilities. Covid safeguards meant not a lot of opportunity to sample anything.

Good for one night

The first thing to hit me was the smell of stale smoke in my room. I have stayed here a few times before and always seem to get the same room so surprised it smelt so strongly given it is a smoke free hotel. The room is compact but as mentioned fine for one night but is very stuffy if the weather is warm even with the window open. Breakfast under Covid-19 conditions was very basic but given it was free i guess I can't complain.

I have stayed here many times and have always had a very warm welcome and enjoyed a comfortable night’s sleep in a clean room. Breakfast was up to normal standards despite the Covid19 restrictions. I will continue to make this a regular port of call when going to or coming off the ferry.

Arrived mid-evening and received a warm welcome at reception. Our room was small but clean and the breakfast buffet was fine. Secure car park could be better lit.

My wife and I booked on line with the promise of the restaurant being open for dinner. On arrival, tired and hungry we were were informed the the restaurant had been closed since August. We are both elderly but the only alternative was to walk to the town centre, 15 mins. Would it have been too difficult to explain this on you website. At least we could have been offered the secure parking free instead of charging us €5.50.

Our room has an enormous double (more like triple) bed filling one long wall, and a huge TV screen filling the other, in a very narrow room No provision has been made for disposing of one's clothes (shelves, chest of drawers), sitting down, or writing at a table or desk. The shower-room has a notice, in French asnd English, about the hot water supply, whose "English" version is virtually incomprehensible. Could not the Management (not "the Direction"!) have found an English speaker to translate the French?

We have stayed at this hotel many times because it so nice and convenient for the ferry terminal. Breakfast was lacking in variety for us - no cereal or fresh fruit, for example, and we weren't comfortable with the self service in the current health climate - your Bristol hotel has a table service system operating which is much more satisfactory.

We still offer bread, pastries, brioche, cereals, yogurts (fruit, plain or white cheese), ham and compote with accompaniments (jams, honey, nutela, butter, ... ). The choice remains to vary. The room was comfortable, the location was perfect (as we had an early departure with the ferry), and the price reasonable. The breakfast was basic, we had a top- floor room so the shower was short, and there wasnt any hand soap on the bathroom, but we only stayed one night before our ferry so we were happy overall.

Friendly reception and an exellent room, quiet and comfortable. Immaculately clean and very pleasant to stay. Botttled water was freely available at all times. The breakfast was very good and even included boiled eggs, as well as the usual French-style items.

Great location. Easy to park. Evening receptionist very friendly. Room small and very hot. Overlooking front of building do very noisy throughout night. Walls extremely thin, we could hear other guests clearly. We had a drink in the hotel bar but card machine not available so were told we could put it on the room. We had an early start for the ferry next day after an awful night sleep. No one at reception or answering buzzer at 6am. Breakfast poorly laid out and incomplete, we didn’t know whether to help ourselves or not. Staff appeared around 6:10am when there was a total of 7 guests waiting. We tried to pay our bar bill again but we’re told it was still cash only, which given current times we did not have any. I was then asked to leave all my card details on a scrap of paper for someone to put the transaction through when I was not present! I could not believe this was suggested, as does not follow any professional GDPR? I felt extremely uncomfortable and refused. I would really like to pay these two drinks though of course through correct process. The staff member then continued to get bread, croissants etc out with no gloves. He did not wear a mask at all. We always choose Ibis when booking a hotel but this whole experience has made me feel different. On a positive, any staff encountered were very friendly. The hotel brilliantly located and free parking a plus. The room was very clean and tidy. The shower was lovely and great water pressure. We will however not return. Can someone please get in touch with me regarding payment for the two drinks?
