Feel good on the move at Mercure. Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal is a unique 3-star hotel inside Schiphol Airport, located airside (after security), in the transit area of lounge 3 (upper level) at the beginning of the F gates. To stay at the hotel, you need a valid passport and flight ticket for the same or next day. Both day and night rooms are available. Please note: you can only bring hand luggage to the hotel. Transit passengers should not go to the exit/arrival hall, but remain in the Terminal.

The hotel is located behind customs and security, in the transit area. For arriving passengers, please follow your way to Lounge 3, at the beginning of the F gates. Do NOT go to the exit/arrival hall. You will find the hotel on the upper level. Departing passengers should follow their way (after checking in their luggage) from the departure hall to security and immigration, and continue to the beginning of the F gates in airport Lounge 3 PLEASE NOTE: you can only bring hand luggage to the hotel!

You certainly won't get bored at Schiphol. There are plenty of places to shop, buy a meal or have a drink. You can also go for a massage, visit the spa or look around the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol.

Great and quiet room. Upon checkin though, I requested a late check out and the staff said “should be ok, but I’m not here in the morning” I asked if she could make a note in my file about this. She said no. Seemed not correct and not the right attitude to have in the hotel industry.

Once we found your hotel is was just fine, but finding it was terrible. It was at night and only one airport employee even knew there was a hotel inside the airport. He directed us, but we still had trouble, went past where we were suppose to go, etc. I understand there is conflict between you and the airport, but somehow you need to inform airport employees about you.

Whilst the location is rather unique for a Hotel in the airport precinct, it does bring with it issues with respect to your check-in luggage (which requires placing into storage) and then going through customs and immigration checks as if you are boarding an airplane, before you arrive at the Hotel. You will need your passports AND the hotel reservation confirmation with you. The customs checks means that you have to make sure that you haven't got your manicure sets like scissors etc or liquids and creams above the maximum allowable amounts, eventhough you are going into a Hotel for an overnight stay. These will be confiscated without question. Then in the morning, to retrieve your check-in luggage, you need to go back into The Netherlands as an arriving passenger and have to line-up, get your passport checked and potentially your carry-on inspected. After retrieval of your check-in luggage from the storage location, you then check-in to your appropriate airline, and then have to go through the customs and immigrations checks again to get to you Gate for your pending flight. When I booked my 1 night stay at this hotel, I don't recall seeing any information that provides this type of information. I only remember receiving some information about the requirements of only bringing our carry-on luggage and that we had to store our check-in luggage on the day of our check-in to the Hotel. So, be warned fellow travellers.
