Overall, my experience at the Nemzeti Hotel Budapest was excellent, and I would definitely choose this hotel again. The location was perfect. It is right next to the New York Café, where I had a few business meetings during my stay, which made everything very convenient. It is also located next to Tram lines 4 and 6, making it easy to get around the city. My room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep every night. The housekeeping staff were incredibly kind and did an excellent job. Overall, the hotel is very well organized, and congratulations to the entire team for maintaining such a high standard. The only issue I experienced was when I arrived late in the afternoon on my first day. Due to a business meeting in Vienna, I needed to split my stay into two separate reservations. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the reception didn’t seem to understand my situation and came across as annoyed, which made the interaction feel somewhat uncomfortable. He told me that since I had originally booked four nights, I had to pay for all four. However, I had made the reservation over the phone, and technically I could have simply not shown up. I believe a more professional and customer-oriented approach in situations like this would have been appreciated. Other than that, everything was outstanding, and I truly enjoyed my stay. Breakfast had variations and was good. Staff where friendly when conversating but I sensed no difference being random guest or as I was, Diamond member. Even the courtesy welcome gift in the room was not better than if I was just a gold member. At other MGallery hotels, the welcome gift for Platinum and Diamond was way way much better. Being loyal customer, I would expect actually more attention to details - both in dialogue and the welcome gift (fruit platter, digestive snacks such as olives, cheese, marmelade, water, wine.. to give example from other MGallery hotels).
