ibis Poitiers Centre Hotel 3 stars

The room was exactly what we expected and needed. It was clean, comfortable and had all basic amenities. It couldn't be more perfect in Location -central but not right on top of the bars. Great price too - we will be back!

Check in was not great. When got to room the key did not work. The receptionist assumed it was me who could not operate the key. However he could not operate key and eventually we was given another room. Room was small but not unexpected for city centre hotel. We went back to hotel in the evening looking forward to drink in bar. Discovered bar was just few bottles on shelf behind reception. We were shown extensive wine menu but turned out no wine available except 25cl bottles cheap Chardonnay. Not a favourite of either my wife or myself. I am a long time customer of accor hotel's but recent experiences seem to indicate I can no longer expect the Ibis brand to provide the level of service I have grown to expect.

I spoke with reception the night before checkout and was told that my credit card would be charged and i had nothing to do as far as checkout The next day after leaving i was accused of leaving without paying i have stayed in numerous Ibis throughout Europe and never i have encountered anything so outrageous as this

Have stayed here several time traveling from UK to Spain. Rooms is very cramped but around the corner from a favourite bistro. And Poitier is a pretty town with a large square in from the Hotel de Ville.

Friendly and helpful staff and we were lucky to get a parking place (8 euros). Rooms all fine, simple and comfortable and breakfast was good. Location is excellent - just round the corner from the main square with its splendid Hotel de Ville, plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes. Poitiers is beautiful and you’re in the heart of it at this comfortable modern hotel.

Good quality of service overall.

Unfortunately bed bugs had invaded the room we had booked and as a result our stay was not as great as we had experienced previously.

Booked a room for a double & single bed. Through the booking process at no point was it highlighted that the single bed was a cabin style bed hanging above the master bed. As this single bed was not suitable we ended up having to share the double bed greatly reducing the comfort and rest of the stay. On top of this the handle to the bathroom repeatedly fell off and when raised to staff on checking out they nodded and acted like this was a regular occurrence. Ultimately an extremely poor stay and beyond providing 4 walls and a roof this offered little.

A compact city centre budget hotel - desperately in need of modernisation

It was just an overnight stop on a long drive. I found all I needed, and could rest undisturbed.

Met by an aggressive trainee who advised we had to pay to park (always have) had to request our welcome drink voucher. A/C all noise and no action,window vents blocked up,room ideal for single person. Could hear neighbour snore all night first night. Sorry but was just not for us. A general point these refill hanging soaps must be one of the most unhygienic items ever. Go to the oo and squeeze the soap tube,nice !!

Room had no curtains. Reserved parking was not available even though it was agreed. Beds not properly made. Bathroom maintenance needed in shower. Really nice staff could not do much about refund as money paid.

Inconsistent breakfast

Stay here several times per year, location is perfect. Always clean and comfortable. Had a problem this time with room key and several members of staff could not have been more helpful in sorting out the problem.

2 nights stay and no lights in the bedroom. The problem was signaled after the first night. No action was taken for the second and no apologies at the end either. The breakfast was good, the room is the smallest we had in an Ibis hotel so far. However the hotel is idealy positioned in the city center.
