I spent one night at the hotel in the context of a working trip. The staff is extremely kind and the hotel is clean, but some features made me doubt it can be considered a 5-star hotel. When I tried to order food late in the evening, I was informed the kitchen was close and the only options was pizza. If you are familiar with 5-star hotels in the US, Latin America, Middle East or Asia, this is very unusual. The room itself is very clean, but the size and decoration do not reflect the price that one is paying. The shower door was not closing properly and water flooded the bathroom floor. Not a bad hotel, excellent staff, well located, but more like a good 4-star than a proper 5 star hotel.

The room is very comfortable, and the hotel is ideally located for the offices in the Kirchberg area. Breakfast is of a very good standard, although a little more variety would make it even better. I also fondly remember from previous stays the small chocolate left on the pillow. It was a simple but very thoughtful gesture that added a personal touch and made guests feel particularly welcome and well cared for.

Good stay. Liked the hotel staff and the Concierge was really a stand-out in terms of actual helpfulness and friendliness. He really seemed to care about his job and the guests. Sofitel should do something to retain him because he's better than the concierges I've experienced in many other luxury hotels.
