Very friendly staff at the reception and room service staff. Breakfast and dinner is mixed. We had a family room with only a tiny space to store cloths. So we mostly lived out of our luggage during the 5 days. Room was extremely spacious but not comfortable at all. Would require some effort to improve (additional storage space, small living room table, some racks and decor etc)

We came to substantiate the experience of reading Marcel Proust's Research and we were satisfied. The room with the Atlantic ocean view, the furniture in the room and elsewhere in the hotel , everything was just about perfect. The only fault was the problem with electricity but that did not depend on you and anyway you sorted it out correctly.

First of all, it was unpleasant to stay one week in a room that has a bathroom with no door because another previous client broke it and it wasn’t repaired before we arrived in Suite Coquatrix.
We consider that for this level of hotel that the room service menu needs to be considerably refined and expanded. The first two evenings the food arrived lukewarm at best and clearly not freshly cooked. During the following days there was an improvement but the menu needs to be more varied for clients with longer stays. It is unacceptable for a hotel on the sea side to serve what is essentially boiled fish with somewhat uncooked vegetables in a vinegar sauce and not to have options for a steak (especially being in Normandy) or a grilled fish.
Apart from these issues the location is fantastic, the spa is excellent and the staff is very friendly. However, for a 5* hotel of this caliber you should repair broken equipment in the room before clients come in.
We mention all this being loyal clients of 4 years in your hotel, coming several times a year always with long stays. We appreciate the location and Brian’s hospitality, the spa’s staff professionalism, the excellent drinks in the bar and the morning breakfast which is always great.

Beautiful location, but clearly overpriced compared to international standards, especially given the quality of the rooms and amenities. The bathroom, in particular, is very small and dated for a luxury hotel. The absence of a gym is also a significant miss.
The service overall needs to be improved. We ordered cocktails in our room two nights in a row, and while the room was serviced every day, the used glasses, glass bottles, and ramekins were left on our table for three days, until we finally asked someone to remove them.
Again, it’s a beautiful building in a beautiful location, but it would need some investment and improvements to truly meet international luxury hotel standards

The Grand Hotel de Cabourg is lovely… It is like stepping back in time but with all the comforts of the modern world. Forgive the few nicks here and there! The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The building was renovated tastefully and the rooms are incredibly comfortable. The food is delicious and the views are fantastic. It’s a serious hotel and you know what you’re going to get. Nothing crazy, just solid good taste, good breakfast, and a beautiful town with a truly beautiful northern beach. The salt and the sea are not easy to deal with, but Le Grand Hotel manages very well and stays clean and pretty!

The location of the hotel was excellent with very convenient access to the beach and the centre of town. Very comfortable room, excellent bed. All staff we encountered from reception, to the bar, to cleaners, to waiters were polite, friendly and professional. If I had to find something that could be improved, it would be to have an iron and ironing board in the room. But, in summary, a superior hotel, with superior staff in a superior location.

The initial impressions of the building, voituriers and reception were good. However, we were very disappointed with our room. The bedroom and bathroom were both very big but lacked maintenance. The balcony needs a good clean and I do not expect in a five star hotel to have to climb into the bath to have a shower, with no handrail, etc and plastic shower curtains.
The Balbec was also disappointing. Lukewarm, unseasoned food. At breakfast we had to ask for items to be replaced.

We have taken careful note of your comments regarding the maintenance and cleanliness of the bedroom, bathroom and balcony, including the dirty perspex panel, cobwebs, scratched headboard and paintwork in need of refreshing. Your comments regarding the overall level of attention to detail and the need for a deeper level of cleaning and maintenance are particularly important to us. We had the most wonderful time staying at the Grand Hotel. The room was beautiful and clean. The view from our balcony was amazing, to top it off, we had front row seats to fireworks on our last night! Everyone in the hotel were wonderful, all of the front desk and the restaurant staff.

Excellent property and a beautiful location. We were very disappointed that our room was not ready at 5PM (!) and we had to wait until well after 6PM to get into our room for our one night stay. Then to offer a free drink coupon that is really only good for a coffee or soft drink or beer seemed pretty cheap.
