Please be advised that this hotel is on the mainland is NOT on Mont St Michel, so if you are looking for a true authentic medieval hotel building experience i the village of the fort, try LA MERE POULARD,,,,,,The Mercure lists itself as on "Le Mont St Michel, but it is nowhere near the island fortress.

Much better than the reviews on here. Make sure to get a larger room.

This hotel is much better than the other reviews! We stayed for one night in a premium room and we were really impressed. Room is good quality, comfy bed, nicely decorated - not tired or scruffy as some of the other reviews stated. We’ve recently stayed in a number of other very tired 4 stars in France, both Mercure and other brands, as well as some amazing 4 star boutique hotels and luxury 5 star by on our road trip. Our expectations were really low for this hotel but we were really pleasantly surprised. The location is excellent. Breakfast was great, varied and good quality. Don’t be put off by the reviews if you’re coming to the area!

Good choice for visiting Mont Saint-Michel

The location of the hotel is great for visiting the Mont Saint-Michel. Breakfast was good, served in a restaurant next to the hotel. The building itself is outdated and we believe the ventilation system for the rooms should be cleaned or renewed.
