Rooms need air conditioning.

Dear Mr. W., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at the Hôtel Mercure Beaune Centre. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our secure car park as well as our convenient location close to the city center. We are, however, truly sorry that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. The unusually high temperatures in April coincided with a period during which our central heating system was still operating, which unfortunately limited our ability to adjust conditions promptly. While such circumstances are rare, we sincerely regret any discomfort this may have caused. Please rest assured that your comments have been carefully considered, and we are currently implementing measures to better anticipate and manage similar situations in the future. Your satisfaction is of great importance to us, particularly as a valued returning guest. Thank you once again for your feedback. We were very warmly welcomed by the hotel team. It was very clean. Nice and spacious bathroom. Above all, it offers excellent value for money. Plus, the hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from downtown.

Overall we enjoy the hotel on the occasions we stay. The staff are efficient and friendly, sensible parking, good restaurant & comfortable bar. The rooms are very small as are the bathrooms. On this occasion we had to use a classic room which was truly basic, rubbish paper cups, no fridge to cool drinks and worst of all no longer offering a bottle of water. This is more ibis budget than 4* Mercure. Even though air conditioning is ADVERTISED throughout the year it is turned off much of the year (false advertising?) and depriving customers from what they have paid for and expected, this was magnified by the room we were given, full sun and boiling hot. When window opened the traffic and train noise throughout the night. Either state no A/C on app and website or have it available.

We are delighted to read that you regularly appreciate the welcome provided by our team, as well as our restaurant and bar services. Regarding your stay, we would like to clarify a few points. At the time of your booking via our website, only Classic rooms were available for sale. Furthermore, when possible — and as you know thanks to your loyalty — we are pleased to offer room upgrades to our guests, which was unfortunately not possible on these dates. Classic rooms do not include a minibar, unlike our Privilege and Suite categories, which is clearly stated in our descriptions. However, a free water fountain with glass bottles is available in the lobby, and this information is also displayed in our public areas as well as in the rooms. Regarding air conditioning, it is indeed advertised as available from May to September. Its activation depends on weather conditions, in order to ensure appropriate and responsible use of our facilities, as indicated on our website, in the room directory, and across all our communication channels. We would also like to assure you that our establishment, which you have known for several years, is serious and consistent in its communication. We do not engage in any misleading advertising: all information provided is transparent, accessible, and fully aligned with the services offered. We are sorry that the assigned room did not fully meet your expectations and take note of your comments regarding comfort and noise environment.
