Great staff in reception (who was also the shuttle driver) and in the restaurant. Restaurant was good, and there is a nice pool-side bar. The downstairs public areas are reasonably well appointed. However the upstairs corridors and the rooms are tired and in need of refurbishment. The room was very small, and the bathroom extractor fan dod not work/was missing.

I was very disappointed with the room. Cramped, depressing decor, ceilings painted half brown and half white, 1 brown curtain and one red, carpets in a variety of red, black, grey and beige motifs, were not conducive to rest. Mattress toppers were uncomfortable and slithered about. And everything looked old and tired. It’s a pity, because in contrast to that there were polite and efficient staff members; a restaurant that allowed me in without complaint minutes from closing and drummed me up an excellent meal; a hotel perfectly located near the airport and a great shuttle service. And an excellent breakfast. But I spent an unpleasant night and would think twice about going back, especially as the prices have shot up.

It’s a good place, and because my flight was early, the location was great for arriving quickly. The only problem was ordering room service. When I called reception, the person told me I had to order directly from the restaurant. I asked for the restaurant's extension, but he just hung up on me. In the end, I had to go to the restaurant reception in person, twice, because they forgot my order, and carry my own food back to the room, one hour and a half later.

The front desk staff at this hotel are always very friendly and helpful (we have stayed at this hotel several times before). The room was good. My wife enjoyed the pool. There was a major problem when it came time to leave. I had paid the account in advance. We had to get up at 2.30am and leave for the airport at 3.30am. The front desk staff had booked us a taxi and an alarm call, both of which happened without problem. When we reached the foyer there was no-one at the front desk to open the door to let us leave the building. After pushing the buzzer near the front door, with no response, my wife had to search to find the staff member, who was in the kitchen. He let us out of the hotel. Then the taxi arrived outside the gate but could not enter, despite pushing the entry button. My wife again had to find the staff member to let the taxi enter. After getting into the taxi, we found that the exit gate also was closed. There was another vehicle trying to leave. The elderly couple inside didn't know what to do. I don't think that they spoke French. After waiting several minutes, the taxi driver entered the hotel and found the staff member, who finally opened the gate to let us leave. The experience was completely unacceptable. It would have been worse if we were foreign visitors who did not speak French. We certainly won't stay at this hotel again if we have to leave during the night – there are hotel alternatives close by. The staff member was quite rude to my wife and the (female) taxi driver. The taxi driver told us that she had had the same experience before. It seemed as though the staff member had some duties in the kitchen to do with preparing breakfast. Whatever the reason, it is not acceptable for guests to be delayed in this way when needing to get to the airport under time pressure.

Unfortunately, my experience with the hotel’s reception and airport shuttle service was extremely disappointing from the very beginning. When I arrived at the airport, I used the shuttle call button to contact the hotel. The male member of staff at reception gave me a very vague response about the shuttle. I waited for about ten minutes and called again. Meanwhile, another passenger arrived and contacted the Hilton for their shuttle. He received a friendly and clear answer – “a few minutes” – and shortly afterwards the Hilton shuttle arrived to pick him up. I had to call Ibis for a third time. This time I was told that the shuttle would arrive in another 10–15 minutes. I pointed out that I had already been waiting for more than ten minutes. This was a very poor first impression and certainly not the kind of welcome you expect from an airport hotel offering a shuttle service. Unfortunately, the problems continued. I specifically booked the hotel shuttle for 4:30 a.m. two days in advance for my departure. On the evening before leaving, I decided to double-check the reservation – only to discover that we were not on the shuttle list at all. This is simply unacceptable, especially when guests depend on an early-morning transfer to catch a flight. Fortunately I checked; otherwise the consequences could have been serious. On a much more positive note, the restaurant was excellent. The staff were genuinely friendly and professional, the food was very good, and the charcoal grill was fantastic. The restaurant experience was easily the highlight of the stay and deserves real praise. There were also some maintenance issues with the room. The toilet did not flush properly, and the bathroom door did not close properly. These are relatively basic things that should be checked and fixed.

The hotel did not meet our minimum expectations in the following ways: when we used the intercom at the airport to call a shuttle, no one answered and we had to spend €16 on an Uber to get to the hotel. In our room, the bolt on the outer door would not turn, so we could not completely secure the room at night. The door knob on the bathroom door would not turn, so we could not shut the door all the way. In addition, the twin beds that were pushed together to create a double bed had a wide crack between them. In effect this prevented them from functioning as a double bed. It would have been nice to have a coffee pot in the room. On the positive side, the dining area was very pleasant and the breakfast was good.

Shuttle service was good, hotel is reliable, and handy for an early flight

The only issue we had is when we arrived and called for the shuttle, the person told us to go to the wrong place and we ended up just walking. When we tried to arrange for a shuttle in the morning, they told us it was too early.
