Superb room, no executive rooms left so got upgraded to a junior suite which was just divine, easy to find hotel whilst driving, restaurant food was sublime and they catered for my husbands gluten intolerance by making him two separate meals, one at dinner and one at breakfast. Couldn’t be nicer and more welcoming staff.

Stayed here for one night for the first time. It’s a nice hotel , very modern and convenient for the city which is just a 10 minute walk (if that) away. Location is good. The lobby area is really nice and inviting with comfy seats, nice bar and welcoming atmosphere we enjoyed having a drink in. The receptionists were not really the friendliest or helpful - seemed a bit confused. I asked for a late check out that was agree on the evening of the stay and the following day had the cleaner knocking on the door , the card stopped working so was locked out the room and lift after I used the pool , oh and when i told them said they had no record of the late check out! . Happy hour was good at the bar decent pricing. Pool was very small but pleasant I booked a swim in the morning and was the only one there and the sauna too. Room was nice , same decor as all Novotel very modern and a comfy bed and pillows. I was annoyed at the noise in the corridor in the morning the cleaners were shouting , laughing , banging things and I got the distinct impression it was to get me out of the room despite my request as a silver member for the late check out . In summary nice hotel but not the best service!

I stayed here for one night in December 2025. The hotel is located just off one of the main roads into York and has a large carpark (the daily charge is 17 GBP). The hotel is about a 10-minute walk into the centre of town. The room was fine with all the usual amenities. Overall the hotel is what one would expect of a Novotel, although I would hesitate recommending this hotel for business purposes. The lobby was a bit noisy and hectic and at one time there was a dog walking around without a leash - not a professional image.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. But - not quite up to Novotel standards. The carpeting outside the lobby area was stained and worn - needs attention. The heating in the room wasn’t working. Lots of noise from the unit in the ceiling, but not much heat, even when at 25C maximum setting. The TV date and time was not properly setup - it thought it was 3.15 in the afternoon of 19th May, when it was actually 8pm on 9th December, so no programme info was available. The sink in the bathroom smelled bad - a mixture of foul drain and cleaner.
