I really hate the room, no air-conditioning in the room and requested for fan. They said it's not available. Moreover while booking it's showed Room is equipped with air conditioning. Room was in the ground floor near to the entrance and I can't be able to open the window. We were with baby and it was nightmare since 4 of us not even slept for 3hpurs. Such a worst day for us and waste of money.

The hotel was so old that it had a terrible smell in the room, everything looks ancient and it was so so hot and there were no A/C. It was extremely hot and there were some weird insects in the room. It was hard!

In my country it would be against the building code (illegal) to not have an internal bathroom extractor fan. The air in the room was dusty and not fresh with cracks in the walls and poor paint touch ups likely from the poor room climate. Checked out early as with no air conditioning the room would be unbearable on a hot day. The parking situation was very poor, had to park on the grass and wait for a park to be available. Very loud building drainage work outside started from 6.45am. Very surprised that the hotel is part of the Accor group. The hotel either needs a big capital investment to upgrade it or it should be demolished.

Expected better from a 4 stars hotel... The room wasn't very clean (big stain under the heater, cobweb on the window, strain on the red thing on the bed). And... no AC/fan?! Seriously?! The heat in the room was unbearable when I arrived! Also... having double bed sheet instead of two single ones would have been more logical. But certain things were great, like the room size, the restaurant (the food was delicious!), and the bathtub.

Not the cleanest, especially since its labelled as 4 star. I had the urge to spray hand sanitizer on everything. Also found a few long hairs in the sink and floor and the towels did not look clean, so i definately did not use. It did not help that everything is simply very very old, like there have been no renovations in a very long time. I only spent one night there, any longer and i would have certainly changed hotels. i do hate to leave bad feedback, but hoping it would help the management to makea change.

I booked four rooms for my stay. The location of the hotel was fine, but the internet quality was a major issue. The first room I was given on the ground floor had no Wi-Fi at all. I requested that it be fixed, but instead I was moved to Room 101, where the Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow. Another room in our group, Room 228, also had no Wi-Fi, and we were only informed about this at checkout by the occupant. Housekeeping in Room 101 was inconsistent. The shampoo and body-wash dispensers were not refilled, and I had to ask reception in the evening for body wash. Even after housekeeping saw the replacement bottle from reception, the dispenser was still not refilled the next day. Breakfast was sufficient, and the service staff at the restaurant were friendly and attentive. The reception team was also helpful. However, the overall management of this branch clearly needs improvement—especially regarding Wi-Fi infrastructure and housekeeping standards

The hotel is located near an S-Bahn Station. The room was spacious with modern decor. The bathroom was spacious, bright, and clean. The carpet had spots and one wall was a little damaged. There were a few cobwebs on the ceiling, but the room and the bed were generally clean.

Our stay at Mercure was, unfortunately, one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, from the moment we arrived until check-out. The hotel is extremely user-unfriendly. Right at the entrance, guests with heavy luggage are forced to climb 2–3 steps. Inside, the elevators was out of order, and after using when it is working, we still had to struggle with two heavy doors and very long corridors to reach our room. The so-called “welcome drink” was nothing more than a coffee from the breakfast room machine — easily the worst coffee I’ve ever had. Another serious issue was the lack of reliable and accurate information from the reception staff. My wife, son and I were attending Gamescom, while my parents (who speak neither English nor German and had no internet access) needed to travel to Cologne Hauptbahnhof. I had researched beforehand and knew there was a direct train from the nearby station Nord. However, when I asked two different receptionists, both told me this was not possible and instead recommended a bus with a transfer — which would have been impossible for my parents to manage. This created unnecessary stress for all of us. In the end, I trusted my own research and indeed, my parents were able to reach Cologne directly by train. When I asked the next day why the staff did not know this basic information, the answer was simply: “I am not from this area.” This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of the All Accor group. Cleanliness was another major disappointment. The towels were stained with substances I do not even want to imagine, the bathroom was full of hair, and there were spider webs on the walls. I also noticed that the cleaning staff appeared to be a man — I am not sure if there are wimen housekerpers if this hotel but perhaps involving more experienced housekeeping staff would improve this situation. Overall, the hotel falls far below the standards one expects from Accor. What should have been a joyful family trip turned into a very unpleasant and stressful experience. I cannot recommend this hotel under any circumstances!
