Check-in was good & the upgraded room was good. After that, it went downhill! We enjoyed a glass of champagne just before dinner although he didn't bring any snack with it. We were the first to arrive at dinner and consulted the menu. It had four main course options and suggested that we also look at the "specials" board. We were told that there wasn't one today. We immediately ordered two main courses. Forty minutes later they were brought to the table. The meals were on hot plates (good) but the cooked meals were cold! We wondered how long they had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be delivered. My steak was barely warm and my wife's fish was cold. Both were sent back. When they both returned, my steak was just warm enough but my wife's fish was still not good - it was sent back again. I proceeded with mine & was almost finished when my wife's fish returned - now hot enough to eat. There was no explanation nor apology offered. We didn't bother with dessert. I signed for the meal (including the two glasses of champagne) and we returned to our room feeling quite deflated. Check-out was a disaster! I normally leave my wife to handle this while I prepare the car. After a few minutes, she came out to bring me back in. The amount on the facture was incorrect. My wife's command of French is very limited, so she asked the receptionist to speak in English. The receptionist's command of English was worse - hence I was asked to come back in. There were two problems with the facture. The first was that the champagne had been charged twice - that was easy to rectify. The second was less obvious but it appeared that the room charge was incorrect. After some debate and me insisting that the ALL app was showing EXACTLY what was "to be paid at the hotel" a correction was made and I made the payment. All of the above left us with a very bad feeling about Novotel Limoges Le Lac.

Overall a good stay.

This is a well maintained business hotel. My room was well furnished and allowed me to work effectively, it also had a great view of the lake alongside the hotel. My only concern was that the mattress was very soft and quite uncomfortable. Excellent dinner and a good breakfast the following morning. Staff are good led by a watchful manager who quickly sorted out a booking issue with the Accor website.
