Some staff were great and others were awful

The waiting / bar and cleaners were great. The receptionist was very dismissive of me for a basic request, twice. I had to go find a cleaner to get it sorted, only for the iron I had to go find myself to be damaged and then damaged my shirt. I took this iron back to reception and told the receptionist what happened. Much to my surprise she laughed at me, was actually insane.

I did not appreciate that my assigned room was a room for disabled people, which is not very comfortable for normal people. I have asked and I was assigned another room. I also had the impression that the ventilation system was not working, but I did not notify this issue.

We spent two nights here for a visit to a nearby event. Based on the first night, a Friday, I would have given 4 stars as the room was comfortable and the meal we had in the evening was tasty and the service good. Breakfast was also good the Saturday morning with sausage, bacon and eggs available plus the usual range of cold foods. The front of house staff were also friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we ate again in the restaurant the second night after a long day out and this time our food sat on the pass for at least 7 minutes getting cold and we were just about to go and get it ourselves when the waitress appeared and served us. We didn't get a chance to ask for ketchup and mayonnaise before she was gone again and it was another few minutes before we could. It then took at least another 5 minutes before this arrived, by which time we were half way through our food. To top this, we were given mustard instead of mayonnaise. When I pointed this out when the plates were eventually collected there was no apology. Breakfast the next morning was also disappointing. The hot drink machine didn't work and the staff were unable to fix this. The eggs and bacon also took a noticably long time to be replenished once they had run out to the point we passed on the bacon this time. All little things, but added together spoiled the experience for us. Based on the experiences of our second night I would only give 2 stars, hence the overall 3 star rating.
