Nice hotel. Good location but very expensive for what it is, the breakfast is £21 and is not worth it at all, I had a slice of toast with beans on it as all the trays for breakfast weee empty. We cancelled breakfast the second morning of our stay. Nice room and rituals are lovely to shower with, really nice hotel but for us, was far too overpriced.

Very nice experience but however, on the last day at breahfast, I had beef, which is against my religion. I mistakenly had black puddng thinking its a sweet dish but it turned out to be beef. One suggestion- You must describe the dish for people who are not native to your country.

We stayed at Novotel for 5 days and 4 nights as a family of two adults and a three-year-old child. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing, especially considering the inconveniences we encountered throughout our stay. We arrived at around 4:00 PM after our flight, expecting to check in, relax, and get some rest. However, upon entering our room, we discovered that the electricity was not working. There were no lights, the air conditioning was off, and none of the electrical facilities were functioning. We contacted reception, and the staff came to assist us. We were then advised not to use the air conditioning because doing so might cause the electricity to trip again, leaving us without lights. We were asked to stay in the room for one night and see if we could manage without the air conditioning. However, we explained that this was not acceptable, as we needed both electricity and air conditioning for a comfortable stay. We also did not want to keep moving from one room to another just to have these basic facilities working, especially with a three-year-old child. It was neither practical nor convenient for our family. Eventually, we were moved to another room. Unfortunately, we discovered that the bathtub drainage in the new room was not working properly either. By this point, we were already tired and frustrated, and we decided to stay in that room rather than go through the inconvenience of moving again. Another disappointing experience occurred on the last day of our stay. Although our bed had been made, the room had clearly not been properly cleaned. All the bins had not been emptied, and the used mugs were still in the room. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that a note containing a question mark had been left regarding the matter. After being out for the entire day, we returned to the room in the evening hoping to have a cup of coffee, only to discover that the used mugs had not been replaced or cleaned. It was frustrating to find the room in that condition, especially when we expected basic housekeeping services to be carried out properly. If there were any concerns or questions regarding the room, we believe the appropriate approach would have been for the housekeeping team to contact us directly rather than leave a note that could be perceived as questioning us. Overall, we were disappointed with the condition of the rooms, the initial electrical problem, the lack of proper bathroom drainage, and the housekeeping service on our final day. These are basic facilities and services that guests should be able to expect from a hotel like Novotel. We understand that unexpected technical issues can happen, and we do appreciate that the staff eventually arranged another room for us. However, the overall experience fell short of our expectations. Travelling with a young child already requires extra consideration, and we hoped for a comfortable and hassle-free stay rather than having to deal with repeated inconveniences. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves room inspections, maintenance, communication, and housekeeping standards to ensure that future guests do not have to experience similar problems.

If you want a location that is well situated to The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Grass Market, and New Town, this is a great hotel. However, the staff is not that friendly or helpful, and there was a horrible sewer smell in our room that came up from the shower drain. Fortunately, we went nose blind to it after about 20 minutes after returning to the room. The lobby was nice, and the facility appeared clean.

Not a great check-in experience, with a classic "Subject to availability" response from the front desk despite my being a Diamond member. The revolving door at the entrance is a pain to push open when you're holding luggage in both hands. The upgraded room I stayed in is poorly designed and not suitable for a family. For a solo stay, it is a good room, though.

Breakfast quite good with several items added to the Standard British Breakfast which gets in incredibly monotonous traveling thru GB. Beds comfortable. Didn’t care for the see-thru door on toilet and shower. Also prefer rooms where thermostats work. Staff warm and welcoming.

We really enjoyed our stay with you. A welcoming Atmosphere , very kind people and a good starting point for exploring the city by foot. We especially loved the way, that our baby was always welcome and smiled at by everyone. The only thing was that we got a normal bed instead of the baby cot we had asked for in advance. But we decided to make our own changes to it and try something new. It worked, so we never asked for a babycot whilest our stay. Thank you for a lovely week

Pleasant and helpful staff, The room and bathroom were fine, very clean - hats off to the cleaning team. Restaurant menu very disappointing, half was burgers and pizzas and a preponderance of vegan/vegetarian dishes
