Once again a most enjoyable and memorable stay. Excellent service and staff made us feel very welcome. Evening meal in La Maison was excellent and again very friendly and professional service. Breakfast offers a good selection but due to the layout can be somewhat frenetic. Egg boiling is a challenge! Also there were occasions when toastie bread and pastry stocks were low/ run out. In the room, 1358, the toilet is dark and due to its size lacks even a small hand basin. Also the catch on the balcony door was broken and it needed a chair to prevent the door from shutting. That having been said the room is spacious, well equipped, very comfortable and with stunning views all of which contribute to a relaxing holiday. Once again we made good use of the pool which is both attractive and easily accessible. We shall return

It didn’t really feel like a family friendly hotel. The kitchen is closed between 14:30-7pm and the food available for children is very limited in that period (stale tortilla chips for 10 Euro). The children’s menu is like something from the 1990s. The beach bar feels quite formal and everyone puts their clothes on to sit there. Children being children (wanting to sit in the sand, because it’s on a beach!) got dirty looks. The restaurant has a beautiful view, even though our fellow grumpy diners pulled the blinds down so we couldn’t see the sunset. Really the staff should have put them back, but I could see this lady was not one to be messed with. Our child sat and ate his food happily and without too much fuss, but it’s not really a restaurant for children. The air conditioning is OK but not really up to the standards of an international hotel (ie couldn’t cope with the recent heatwave). I had to beg to get a sheet from reception one evening as he didn’t believe me that they’d forgotten to leave one when they made the bed. We ended up in a whole discussion about how they have duvets and that’s how the beds are and so asking for a sheet to sleep under in a massive heatwave was somehow unreasonable. Generally the customer is always right philosophy does not seem to apply at this hotel. Also had to argue to get something taken off the menu. I won eventually and we parted on good terms but it was all a bit wearing. The swimming pool is amazing! Ridiculously, you cannot access the sun lounger terrace directly in front of it from the pool area. You have to put your clothes and shoes on, go upstairs, along a corridor, and downstairs again to do that. I expect they do this to keep the Ibis people separate but it’s very silly. Speaking of Ibis, when I arrived and said I had booked a room, the woman on the front desk said, abruptly: “IBIS?” by way of greeting. Clearly I look the type! I have still not recovered 💀 I would stay again simply because of the pool and the beach, and because of the one absolutely lovely member of staff (Elodie) who was kind to us (the housekeeping team were also lovely, and there was a teenage boy who worked in the snack bar who was very nice also). But I do think they need to seriously up their game to compete with other hotels in the same price bracket, and the food situation is simply unacceptable.
