A bond was placed on my card. I would have thought it would be a hold but it’s charged my card and I never used the mini bar. I called and spoke to someone and they said it was weird it should have refunded by now and they would look into it and call me back. I have heard nothing and I just tried to call twice now and get hung up on. I’m a bit stressed about this and have not experienced this before.

Front staff, reception, baggage, check in and all guest services are EXCELLENT!! Always polite and welcoming. Very Professional and helpful. However, I think this hotel is getting very greedy. You don't value your customer and feel you can charge whatever you wish. I extended my stay as my lawyers were not able to complete the work, but you added $100 and the next day the same claiming there's a concert and hotels are full and thinks it is acceptable to charge. I already paid premium and my room this time is the smallest. There is no complimentary bottled water anymore. The sales team at the room booking office did not come back to me if they can or cannot waive the additional $100 for my extension. Yes, I made a request. I have to request cleaning services and the cleaning is bad. I dropped cookie crumbs and tried to clean up as much as I can but could not. What could I not remain there? Thought you would have a vacuum cleaner. I went for my complimentary drink; the staff didn't accept my apps on the phone. Wanted a coupon? Had to call around to believe I actually had a complimentary drink. The chocolate hour is pathetic; no one replenishes the chocolate. I loss interest after standing in queue to sight the ugly display of chocolate. Best not to advertise you have this service; it is not presentable. I feel times are hard, many are struggling and, in my opinion, please recognize your long-standing customers and try not to overcharge. We run our lodges here too, and we value repeat bookings and very often I throw in one or 2 nights depending on length of stay. I am not asking for a freebie but stay the same rate for starters? The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was small, but it really didn't matter because the bed was so comfortable. The desk was large and practical for working. The heater worked brilliantly, which I appreciated because I often get cold in hotel rooms. Chocolate hour was a welcome bonus. Thank you, we'll be back!

Absolutely loved our stay. We stayed for 1 night to attend the Hilary Duff concert which was amazing BTW. The hotel is so beautiful. Loved the chocolate hour where we could indulge in it. Special thanks to Christian, our room was lovely overlooking the city. The Restaurant staff Eliza and Prescilla were attentive and their recommendation for the Tropical Sundae was bang on. Sorry we didn't get the names of the staff at check out, but they were lovely too. We will definitely be back.

I booked three rooms for our family of 5 and stayed 2 nights. The location was perfect for us, we were able to walk to dinner within minutes as well as to the harbour to board a boat for Waiheke Island. We would have stayed again on our return to Auckland but the hotel was fully booked. We will definitely stay there on our next trip, the rooms are very comfortable and immaculate, well maintained with good facilities. My husband and I paid for an upgrade for a room facing the harbour and I would do that again too.

Fire evacuation at 12pm on the 14th Oct 2026. Un-organised no fire warden identifiable as none of the staff were wearing anything hi vis - no clear signage on where we needed to stand. One of the occupants slept through the alarm and wasn't evacuated. No explanation given the following morning and the hot water for a shower was luke warm the following morning.

The hotel was in a very convenient location in the town centre. The complimentary chocolate hour at 3 pm was fantastic! However, the room was smaller than I had expected based on the photos, and it was disappointing that there was no bathtub in the bathroom. During my stay, the fire alarm went off. However, the wardens were not wearing high-visibility jackets, which made it difficult to identify them and caused confusion at the assembly point. The assembly point was also located at the entrance, but firefighters told us not to gather there. The wardens were also slow to respond, which added to the confusion. At check-in, NZ$100 was charged to my credit card as a deposit. However, I did not receive a refund when I checked out, and four days later, the money has still not been refunded. I would appreciate an update on the status of my refund.

Stayed here for two nights for work. On my first night, the fire alarm went off at midnight and we had to evacuate the hotel. The staff were very professional, polite and rapid at getting all the guests out safely from the building. On arriving home after my stay, I realised I left a personal item behind in the room. Colleen at the front desk was extremely helpful in contacting the housekeeping staff, locating my item and posting it back to me. Great service all around, thank you!

Located in the most convenient of spaces. We arrived and quickly changed before talking a 2 minute walk to the Waitematā train station right around the corner. The location was fabulous allowing for quick access to coffee, delicious food, and shopping. We were surprised at how quiet it was at night due to its closeness to Britomart. It was beautiful, very comfortable, and safe. Check in and out was smooth and we appreciate that they even held our luggage so we could shop around after check out. Highly recommend.

Staff did not communicate at all during the fire evacuation. This could have been a serious issue if there had actually been a fire. First time I saw a staff member was at the lift returning to my room. No hot water my second morning there. Fridge in my room was warm and not turned on.

We were happy that our requests for an early check-in and move to a harbour view room were granted. The room was very nice and the chocolate afternoon was pleasant. However, we were frustrated with an inability to access room service. there was no hard copy menu (we were promised one but it never arrived) and when we scanned the QR code on a card in the room we were taken to a betting app!

However, I’m genuinely sorry for the frustration caused by the room service experience. Having a printed menu promised but never delivered is disappointing enough, and I can only imagine your confusion when the QR code directed you to an unrelated betting app instead. This is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have, and I apologise that we made it so difficult for you to access our room service options. We’ll share your feedback with the relevant teams so that the menu availability and QR code issue can be looked into and addressed.
