My husband and i had a fantastic stay! We were totally spoilt and treated like VIP’s the whole stay. A particular mention to the Club Lounge manager and staff, they went over and beyond. All food consumed from the divine High Society Restaurant dinner, with the best cocktails to the very satisfying breakfast with all you could ever wish for in a breakfast. Thank you to Stephan for the upgrade, we are raving fans and will tell all of our friends about this memorable Staycation.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The service was wonderful and possibly among the best from any hotel I have stayed at, and I stay at a lot of hotels! In particular the staff in the Executive lounge were outstanding and a credit the hotel.

Modern hotel with a great location, just across the road from Brittomart and the waterfront. All staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Rooms were a bit odd....no bathroom door and the bath is in the corner of the lounge. Quite dark and not as comforting as I like a hotel to be. Bed was excellent and the room was quiet.

Our recent stay at the So Hotel in Auckland was for a special treat. The layout of the room was excellent. We took advantage of the So Club and the staff in this area were very friendly - we were somewhat disappointed with the lack of housekeeping - rooms not being supplied with fresh towels and toiletries daily nor loo paper which is an expectation of a hotel of this caliber and cost. The piped music in some areas was pretty awful. The Wellness Spa was excellent but somewhat pricey.

Stay here for couple of nights for a business trip and love the decor of the hotel. Hotel has a rooftop bar which is very nice. Room got a open plan bathroom which is strange at first but very modern and quickly to get used to. Would stay here again.

Always good to stay at a new oroperty and the So/ Auckland doesn’t disappoint in terms of modernity and design. The rooms as super cool and well lid out. We stayed for two-nights in a club level room with an amazing view of the Harbour. The exec lounge is great with an upstairs open roof area and heaps fo good food and drinks. The service in the lounge was outstanding. The rooftop bar was also great and the food there was yum. Now to why I wouldn’t stay here again. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and the noise levels were excessive. The loud music and shouting from the street felt like it was in your room. No sleep until 4am as that’s when things went silent. Until roadworks started at 0630. Not the relaxed luxury we expected. Single glazed windows... what were they thinking. Good to hear they are going to be double glazing. Staff were helpful and moved us to a suite on the other side of the hotel which was better but not quiet. So would I stay here again... only on a Monday- Wednesday and never again over the weekend. Which is a shame as we loved the hotel during the day.

This hotel is great, thinking of travellers in mind. They provide all amenities. Mini bar contest are free and water bottles are included. They sent us a small dessert plate for our anniversary. Unfortunately we forgot it in the fridge. They accommodated our request for late checkout as well.

improve cleanliness and concierge services level. we stayed 5 nights at the hotel of which two times our room was not cleaned or cleaned poorly. concierge was not able to assist in finding taxi services or places to eat and hang outside of the hotel and seemed very young and unprofessional. other than that the hotel is amazing.

We love the Accor group and as members we frequently stay at SO and Sofitel as a holiday in our own city when we can’t escape our busy lives. SO is a very stylish and chic hotel. The rooms are gorgeous with modern interior fitout and amenities. Even the lowest tier rooms are gorgeous and super comfortable! The restaurants and bars are very nice too, particularly Harbour Society which always delivers on beautiful meals. The only thing that disappointed us this time was the person who was on the front desk at check in. We had been out at a work party and didn’t get in for check in until the wee hours of the morning - my partner and I felt like we were being judged as, the person made a comment about how little hours we had left in the room which made us feel like the nature of our stay may have been something it wasn’t. When I asked to book another night he said they were fully booked. I went online and found the exact same room still available and rebooked another night. Thankfully the rest of the staff are all lovely and go above and beyond. The spa staff are fabulous and offer amazing treatments. Overall our stays are always enjoyable. It is expensive however you do get value for money - particularly if you stay in one of the club rooms :)

The hotel room is spacious but hard for shaving due to the single light installed at one side of the vanity. The booking and the front desk did not communicate well about the late check out and valet parking request and caused the check out problem.

Really comfortable bed. The lifts were a bit slow. The view and outlook from the breakfast room and the bar are really nice. Well located in the city and close to most things. Staff generally quite good although a bit slow.

Contacted the hotel prior to stay to discuss room allocation as I'd read (after booking) some reviews that stated some rooms had an open bedroom/bathroom, which wouldn't have suited us as our 7 year old daughter was sharing the room. I expressed my concerns in an email and the first response was to be told i had been allocated a So Comfy King Room (which is what I'd booked) with a picture of the room, which was the same as was on the website. I queried whether the wall between the bed and bathroom was clear or solid and asked if the pre-allocation would prevent me from receiving a room upgrade if available, as I am a Platinum Accor member. The question regarding the wall wasn't answered but I was told I was being upgraded to a suite, which is the largest room they have. Two days prior to arriving, I received another email asking my arrival and departure times, advising the restaurant was fully booked and asking if I required transport. I advised my airline arrival and departure times and accepted the offer of a transport reservation. I didn't receive a reply until right before I was boarding the flight 2 days later, so wasn't even sure up until that point if I had transport from the airport or not. We arrived at the hotel at around 4pm and were advised that due to our room being upgraded, that it was not ready as yet and we would have to wait. We were told to go up to the Exec lounge for refreshments while we waited. The Exec lounge however was in-between service times so at first we were told we could have a soft drink only. A short time later though, the host told us she had been advised of our situation and would be happy to offer a drink from the limited drinks menu which we accepted. We waited and waited. Our room was not ready until 5.30pm!!!! Even though the hotel knew our exact arrival time and the room upgrade had been confirmed 2 days prior to our arrival, the room was still not ready until 3.5 hours after guaranteed check in. How does that even happen? We finally got the keys to our room on the fourth floor, only to discover horrible view of the sides of buildings and construction. We were so disappointed, especially as we were staying 3 nights. There was no beer in the mini bar so my husband called to request a few to be sent to the room, along with a champagne flute for me. He was told to look at the menu on the TV however there were NO TV remotes in the room, at all. The TV remotes were delivered a while later and we waited an

We stayed here for 3 nights, past stays in Auckland have been at the Sofitel which is awesome, as we had a show to go and see at spark arena I chose SO for something different as its a bit closer. Its a very cool hotel and all the staff are awesome, friendly and always want to help. We had a package on the first night which included a 3 course dinner in the restaurant, massage in the spa, and breakfast the next morning. The spa treatment was amazing, skilled therapists delivered a super firm massage which would have to be one of the best I've ever experienced. One thing that could have lifted this review to 5 stars was acknowledgement of the Accor Gold, nothing was mentioned and we were given a room facing the construction site, the hotel was not full by any means, could have easily given us a room facing the wharf, or an upgrade to next room type to make it super spesh. Awesome hotel, keep up the good work and we will be back.

So many excellent features, but we wouldn’t go back. Dreadful having an open toilet in the room, very bad! Staff were excellent, food, location, all first class. Views from restaurant were super. Didn’t like neon lights in corridors, very disconcerting.

As a weekly travller i have seen a lot of good and bad hotels. So Auckland is by far the best hotel i have stayed in world wide. Clean, very modern, excellent service, amazing pool and gym facilities. Reasonable pricing too. Highly recommend

My partner and I had 2 nights here before and after a weekend trip outside of Auckland recently. The room styling is really unique and cool. Lobby area is also really trendy and unique. Service is excellent with all staff being very friendly and helpful. We dined in the HI-SO restaurant one night and had a fantastic meal which was "SO Amazing". Special thanks to the friendly staff Maëlys and Viktoria who really stood out with their great service and friendliness! Look forward to visiting again if in Auckland.

Loved everything about the place and the staff. In fact the staff are the best we've ever experienced... every single one of them. It is expensive so if this is your usual price range, good on you and keep enjoying. If this is a one off treat, make sure you check as soon as you can to make the most of the fabulous experience.
