Should not be an Accor Hotel

Stayed one night in the Sebel. Checked out early and transferred directly to the Sofitel instead. Primary reason for booking the Sebel was location, secondary reason was that it was under the Accor umbrella, assuming it would be good. Service was terrible, Check-in took over 20 minutes, no Gold benefits given, male receptionist took a phone call during check-in!? Female receptionist noticed and stepped in quickly to complete the check-in. No mini-bar, no snacks, not even water in the room. Check-out took 10 minutes. Will not be back and highly recommend it is removed from the Accor Brand of hotels.

Great location close to restaurant's etc and handy to city! And the winner the staff second to none! I can not say enough about how good the staff are here. Nothing was a big issue! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

The room was comfortable and clean but the shower was only luke warm. Unfortunately the hotel is situated in the middle of considerable city council works which made it difficult to drive in the area.

Although this hotel is in a good location, it isn't made clear at the time of booking how very few car parking spaces are available for guests. The hotel doesn't have any facilities on site like a bar or restaurant, again not abundantly clear when booking.

The room was ok, aspects were tired and needed a fix up. The noise from the resturants and pubs underneath is unfortunate as it keeps you up at night - bring ear plugs. No gym or swimming pools facitilies on site. No room service breakfast

We do not have our own restaurant however, our local restaurants in viaduct offer room service during the night for our hotel guests and serve breakfast. We also regret to inform our guest that we do not have guy or pool facilities in our hotel but you are more that welcome to use the pool at the Tepid bath opposite side of our hotel as as complimentary and $8 for the Gym. We had a very good two night stay, asked for a quiet room and we were given 602, which was very quiet for us and we will save this room as our favorite for next time. Staff were excellent and the check in and check out smooth and simple. The room was comfortable and the bed was comfortable and had everything we needed. Bathroom was a bit dated and there was no shower cap, which was a bit of an inconvenience for my wife in the morning. Great location for us and we also enjoyed our breakfasts at the Giraffe (not sure if this falls under the Sebel survey ?) We will be back :)

When the website says one date and you click on it but only to find out it books 4mths later was not happy as i had to pay extra to change it. If i want to pay Plus plus service I'll go to Asia. I didn't think it was 4 star either. The view was great but the room was no more than 3 star accommodation.

Was looking forward to a nice relaxing time. Unfortunately there was only luck warm water for a bath Saturday night and no hot water for a shower Sunday morning. Have had better times but unfortunately were let down this time.

Great Central location but don't stay on the 1st floor on a Fri or Sat night because the DJ at Soul bar underneath shakes your floor until 3am. The bass has the plates rattling all night - no chance that you could sleep

Ideal location for a weekend away, there were good options for food nearby (Japanese at Zen across the road was really good) lovely harbor views from my room as well as the Matariki Light show across the Harbor bridge, comfortable bed and helpful, welcoming staff.

Convenient Viaduct Harbour location but lacking in service standards. I have stayed at this property previously and had a good experience, not so great on this occasion. No housekeeping/ service of the room for the second nights stay, no pick up of phone calls to reception (I had to call the 0800 number and leave a message re a request for towels)

Service terrible ignored several people waiting for priority desk, Accor plus we pay a decent fee to be members for a few privelleges but they are not honoured well and not worth the fee. Rooms are very tired and in need of serious renovation and proper clean, broken tiles everywhere linen is old and worn, and its expensive for what you get, location good for viaduct but so are many hotels. Would not stay again

Our stay was excellent and could not fault the accommodation and value for money and the friendly staff. If you want a perfect apartment then they wont work for you as ours was a bit dated with some wear and tear but I couldnt complain for the price as it is much less then the Sofitel Viaduct Harbour so you get what you pay for. There is no inhouse restaurant or bar but it's just a few steps from the Viaduct with many options. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching people in the viaduct below. It was lovely to hear the buzz around us and know people were enjoying themselves after the recent restrictions we have had. The sunset was AMAZING. Once we shut the doors we couldnt hear any noise and had a good sleep. I knew from previous reviews that the parking wasnt great so was ready for this but if I had to nitpick for any negatives it would be this. It could so easily be fixed with a few tweaks. We only travelled from over the bridge so werent tired and grumpy but I would expect if you have travelled a long way that the parking situation could make you annoyed. I dont like putting negative things in reviews but thsi was definitely a bit lacking. Other than that I look forward to returning and will probably park in the Downtown Carpark just 100 metres away next time.

Nothing wrong with the room. The problems started when we checked out. Being Accor members, our payment of $531had been deducted from my credit card on arrival. Yet they not only charged us twice for parking on checkout but they also took an additional $950 from our credit card. There is no invoice for that and nearly a week later the money has not been returned to us. I have spent hours on the phone to them and so far - nothing.

Stayed here often; great location; room was changed as unhappy with first room offered; only complaint - my room wasn't serviced until 4.35pm on the last day - way too late!! I took the towels and didn't worry about the rest as it was the 4th night of 4

Accommodation and location is great, but both were surpassed by the incredible service that we received during our stay - the staff are incredible, friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and we will definitely be going back.

We found the hotel to be in a great location for us to walk or train. Very well presented and anything we asked for they were very willing and quick to help. Lovely view and comfortable beds. Would recommend and visit again.

Nice friendly hotel, slap bang in the middle of the "Viaduct" harbour complex. The soundproofing in our room was BAD, and we could hear people having fun and music from bars and testaurants until 4am. Room its self was nice.

We choose the Sebel because of the Accor loyalty programme and its location. However we were largely disappointed this time. We were a party of 3 and the room was not set up for the right amount of people which they did when we were in the room. The rooms are a great size but are very dated. The bathroom looks like it hasn't been updated since the 90's. The shower head wouldn't stay up and get rotating towards the door making showering difficult. These rooms are not cheap and I would expect better. We faced the road and didn't have any problems with street noise.

Being located on the Viaduct was awesome, plenty of Dining establishments to choose from. Nice room, very spacious. When checking in we were asked if we would like 2 complimentary drinks sent our room, we accepted, but the drinks never showed up. Parking instructions could have been clearer, it was not until we showed up that we were told that the car park was full and that we would have to find our own parking elsewhere. This wasn’t hard but would have been nice to know in advance that this was the case as it would have been easier to park in a parking building nearby before checking in.
