Great location, rooms have seen better days

We have stayed at this Sebel a number of times over many years. Providing you don't mind the noisy weekend nights it's in a great location. We always book a one bedroom "suite" overlooking the Viaduct. Sadly, the rooms are really showing their age now. Ours, on the third floor, was very knocked around with walls and furniture badly marked. The bathroom door hinges had pulled away from the door jam and wouldn't close but this was fixed promptly when we reported it. When the hair dryer had a melt down and blew out smoke, it was quickly replaced. The shower fan was in need of a clean as was the oven which was very dirty. When we checked in for our 10 day stay we were told we would have to pay a "bond" of $500 to cover any extras (mini bar etc.). We objected, and this requirement was dropped — we had just paid nearly $5,000 up front for the room! The staff were very good, both friendly and efficient. Perhaps this hotel is in its last year or two. Hopefully it will be refurbished.

We were disappointed with the arrival and check in, staff seemed a bit disinterested and didn’t listen to my details. Another customer had just come back to reception as she had just checked in and opened the door to her room only to find it was occupied! Our room was disappointing too, it was a large room but very dated and there were several stains on the floor. The furniture was more modern but sparse and made the room feel very empty. The tv was very small for the size of the room. The bathroom was dated but clean and we did enjoy the shower- great pressure! We were left welcome drinks as with no bar we could not have a free drink as ALL members, this was a nice touch but would have been better if the wine was put in the fridge to chill. It was a shame not to have any bar or dining facilities on site but we did make use of the room service from the adjoining restaurant and were impressed with this but it would have been nice to charge it to the room. I had heard the hotel was troubled with noise from the viaduct but we were on the city side and the room was quiet. One of the most disappointing moments for us was when we came back on the evening not one of the several people on the front desk raised their head to greet us. We are loyal Accor customers and have never felt unwelcome in a hotel but the staff at the Sebel made us feel anything but welcome. The lady who checked us out was more friendly and i only wish all staff made a bit more effort and the hotel certainly needs some investment to bring it up to the 4 star standard it claims to be! Its a great location and should be a premium hotel but instead felt like a cheap motel ( but certainly cost more than that!!)

위치가 좋음.

However, I wish you would improve the voltage compatibility. In Korea, home appliances are 220V, but your hotel only provides New Zealand standard voltage. Of course, I solved it by bringing a portable transformer, but it would be better if you at least installed outlets and plugs for 110V and 220V.
