I recently stayed at the Sebel and messed up my booking in that I booked for 2 nights instead of 3. The team at reception contacted me to enquire why I had not checked out. At this point I realised my mistake. The room was no longer available and I was in a meeting miles away. The team booked another room for me and diligently transferred all of my possessions to the new room. I came back in the evening to find even my toothbrush in teh correct place- bit in a different room. Thank you.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. I needed their reassurance about my booking which I originally made online and had found the booking process confusing and a little frustrating. I rang and spoke to them and they confirmed the information I was not able to obtain online. The website is not designed for New Zealand customers booking in New Zealand.

Given the number of times we have stayed at Sebel, we were disappointed with being placed in room 611. There is little privacy in this bedroom, and blinds have to be kept shut.

The Hotel certainly offered a very good level of accommodation, clean especially bed linen and towels. A few issues with the room and supplies but a quick phone call to Reception the issues were resolved. Reception Staff ranged from very friendly to quite aloof, one in particular had very poor customer service skills. We would certainly stay there again, but we will be prepared for the terrible noise from the Restaurants below which unfortunately goes into the early hours of the morning. I have informed our Travel Agent of this particular issue and warn any of their prospective clients to be prepared for the noise.

Check-in and out was quick and easy, and the room was clean and comfy. What affected the experience somewhat is that I realised 2 days after checking out that I had left a small dongle from a Bluetooth headset on the bedside table. I went to reception straight away, but it hadnt been registered with lost and found. It was totally my fault for leaving it there, but I was disappointed it hadn’t been handed in. On its own it has no value, but to replace it costs $100. I imagine it was just thrown out. If it had been handed it I would have given a 10/10 as that would have been such a positive experience.

Frustrating. Many things regarding our booking was incorrect. We booked 4 rooms, but after 3 attempts they finally got it right, yet booked all 4 rooms under 1 name - Gary G.. So when people arrived they could not check in until Gary G. arrived. One guest was even pregnant and could not check in.

The room was wonderful and I can't complain about the view, room and ambiance - all superb. On check out I was told the room rate had gone up considerably as it was the same night as the U2 concert (true), however the place seemed next to empty to me. I was asked to pay an extra $150 on check out which surprised me. The Indian man on checkout needs to learn some manners.

Love staying here. The particular trip my main bathroom shower was leaking to the apartment below me thus I was asked to not use this shower during my 7 day stay! Other than that my stay was fine.

We've stayed here a number of times and like the proximity to restaurants and bars, but this time, it felt a little run-down and tired. In the past, we've been lucky enough to be upgraded to the 2-bedroom corner unit and that may have spoilt us. This time, despite paying for a harbourview deluxe (approximately $457 for one night), it felt like we'd seriously overpaid for the room. Sure, it was nice enough and we enjoyed our time there, but we did question if we'd spent too much money. One other small thing - our welcome drinks took so long to arrive, my partner almost fell asleep (literally). We ended up having to ring Reception and remind them - because I am sure they'd forgotten.

First hotel we stayed in on our New Zealand tour, it was in an ideal location and although we had a harbour view room it was not the best tucked in a corner. Room was comfortable and had all we needed after travelling for 24 hours.

We have returned to the Sebel many times and as always enjoyed our stay. Location and views (we had harbour view) cannot be beaten. It epitomises Auckland. The apartment also (generally speaking) has everything you need for holiday stay. This time, we did find that the apartment could definitely use a refresh as it was pretty worn and tired.

Did not live up to claimed Accor Plus experience

Joined Accor Plus under aggressive marketing over the phone. Did not get one night free as promised Check in documentation was not up to date with my new membership Room 309 was dirty and recent bathroom tile re sealing was no where near trade std. Main outside sliding window was worn out and very hard to slide. Freezer box iced up. Night before checkout documentation invited us to join Accor Plus ! We have stayed in this hotel several times over many years......very disappointing that the much touted Accor Plus experience was not apparent and the hotel was run down. Otherwise loved the location and bed was very comfortable!
