I originally wrote this review before the conclusion of our stay. Then deleted it and rewrote. My original draft was about how despite booking a luxury city view hotel room we end up with no view at all. All the windows were frosted over so unable to see out at all, with the exception of one window which overlooked the back of another building. The room felt like a cell with very little natural light apart from a small sliver of a window at almost ceiling height. Staff were almost nonexistent and when required to help seemed unable to be proactive. On the first day we asked for some laundry to be done and the hotel manager argued we had missed the 9am cut off. It was 10 to 9 when we presented our laundry. We had to insist he called the laundry company, which he did after much insisting on our part. Of course they were happy to pick up. Our room was never cleaned before 5pm. On one occasion it didn’t get cleaned at all. Having reported this to management, they showed little concern. When the room was cleaned, silly issues but irritating ones, were the order of the day. Forgetting to replace water bottles, renew soap etc.

Such a gorgeous boutique and small hotel. Every part of it is just simply exquisite and pretty. Lovely attention has been made to its décor and has I really felt as if I was in awe of its beauty and class.   Our room was on the small side but we made do and it had all of what we needed and required for our two night stay. Including a Nespresso machine which capsules were replenished daily.   The hotel breakfast buffet was incredible.   The service we experienced by all of its staff was most professional, helpful and friendly.   We really enjoyed our stay here, we highly recommend it and would adore to return to stay again in the future.

I’ve wanted to try this hotel for a long time and booked over a year ago for a special occasion. The staff are lovely and helpful. The bed was very comfy. Hotel in great location. That was where the good stuff ended. The room smelled very musty. Had to have the balcony door open for extended periods of time and room smelled if left shut up. The hot water ran out during my shower the first morning. The shelf in the shower was not secured properly and couldn’t be used to place shampoo etc on. The hot tub had broken and was under repair, which we weren’t told until we tried to use it. If you are coming by car, don’t. It’s a nightmare. I got abused by the courier driver while trying to drop off luggage and get car put into valet. My husband had to go around the block multiple times. The room seemed to be missing some of the elements you would expect of a 5 star hotel. On another note- we were on the 8th floor. The lift only goes to 7th. We are fit, so didn’t worry us. Not many amenities for a 5 star. Not worth the price tag.

Great location, good rooms, amazing staff

Great location, good rooms, looks like been recently done up. The staff is great, 5stars to them. The hotel is on a busy street and you blink and miss it. The rooms have no views at all. There is no dedicated parking space so difficult to park your car even to get the luggage in and out. The hotel staff were very helpful hence, we could manage. Parking overnight at a nearby car park will cost approx 40.

We were in AKL for our daughter's 18th b'day as she attended a concert in CBD as part of the celebration. Our stay at Fable was wonderful, I can't say enough good things about the experience - wonderful concierge and front desk service, close to great shops and dining, excellent buffet breakfast, marvellous beds with lovely linens, prompt valet car service, I cld go on and on. If you're looking for a special stay in Tāmaki Makaurau, this is it.
