Upon arriving at the hotel by Gojek, there was no one to greet me until I was about to enter the property. That was understandable, as the staff may have been occupied at the time. I was then invited to wait on the sofa beside the ALL Accor Priority Welcome desk, as both receptionists were assisting other guests. However, once the staff member at the Priority Welcome desk became available, he attended to a group of guests who had just walked into the hotel instead of acknowledging me. I assumed perhaps he had simply overlooked me. Realising that where I was seated might not have been easily visible, I stood between the two reception desks, holding my passport in hand, clearly waiting to be assisted. Knowing it might still take some time, and as no welcome drink had been offered, I briefly went to redeem my complimentary welcome drink before returning to wait. By then, another group of newly arrived guests had joined the queue. While the original two receptionists remained occupied with their guests, an additional staff member came to assist. What was particularly frustrating was that neither of the original receptionists acknowledged my presence or directed the additional staff to assist me first. Instead, the newly arrived guests were attended to ahead of me. I was extremely disappointed. Throughout the entire check-in process, I was left standing without even a simple acknowledgement, despite being an ALL Gold member with access to the Priority Welcome service. If Priority Welcome cannot be consistently delivered, then it should not be promoted as a guest benefit. I did express my frustration to one of the receptionists. While she apologised for the inconvenience, the response felt generic and there was little effort to understand what had actually happened from my perspective. Already frustrated, I went straight to my room with my welcome drink and avoided the reception area for the rest of my stay whenever possible. That said, I would also like to recognise a positive experience. The staff member (the night security guard) who assisted with my airport transportation demonstrated genuine warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness. His service was exemplary and reflected the level of hospitality I had expected throughout my stay. I sincerely hope this is the standard of service that Novotel strives to deliver consistently..
