Whilst the staff were very friendly, the Hotel itself was not good. The rooms were small, our so called privilege room was small & there was no curtain between the main bed & 3rd sofa bed. Access was via long winding corridors devoid of any character. In the room itself, whilst well appointed, clean yet tiny, the cheapest of cheap toilet paper was used, the shower gel pot was empty. The cleaners were brilliant, yet what they had to top up our room wasn't great. Then breakfast. Hotel Breakfast shouldn't be a treasure hunt. Juice here, glasses elsewhere or missing. Tea in a large pot where you had to stick your hand in & very unhygienic, cups elsewhere with the coffee and the milk in another cupboard. The breakfast range was messy & poor, below any other Mercure or Ibis that I've been to. On day 1, the breakfast area was a bomb site, dirty tables, food all over the floor. I know it was a coach load of messy guests, but you need to clean up quickly after guests. Day 2 was a little better but clean up after guests was slow. Clearly breakfast resources are inadequate. The range was also poor & low quality. Next was the drinking water fountain. It was broken, so we had to go out to buy water. Coffee cups were chipped & dirty, tea was there but lacked the basic hygiene. I had to stick my hand in the tea, to rescue the scoop to fill the tea strainer, which was also stained & not properly washed. Nancy itself is noisy with endless bin lorries, road sweepers, leaf blowers, street washers, roadworks, building works and deliveries all the time. The city is stuck in the 1980s. Not the hotels fault, but they could at least try to create a haven from the hustle & bustle outside!

A comfortable room with a nice big bed. The ceiling leaked in the bathroom causing a major kerfuffle early in the morning. Staff were kind in organising another room for us so that we could use the bathroom and facilitated a later departure for us. The breakfast room was nicely decorated and pleasant to use. All the staff were very friendly and the cleaning team were also very friendly. Car park easy to use, but without direct lift into the hotel. It would have been very difficult with a larger case.

Overall a great stay, hotel location was great for exploring the suprising city of Nancy. Positives - great size room, friendly management, friendly Morning staff member on reception, great breakfast choices. Negatives - Afternoon reception personal not friendly and every question seemed like a bore for them. Breakfast organisation was lacking. No one to seat you, so all the uncleared tables weren’t noticed ( there was only one poor young man trying to do everything) we waited 10 mins to see if smaller tables would be cleared but no one appeared. Ended up using massive table in reception - we were only 3. Best thing: The water cooler in reception was brilliant and next to it were local syrups of bergamot and Mirabelle. A nice touch and brilliant for reducing plastic.

I’ve stayed at several Mercure hotels over the years and have always had very positive experiences. I’ve come to associate the brand with a high standard of comfort, thoughtful architecture, and well-designed interiors. Unfortunately, Hôtel Mercure Nancy Centre Place Stanislas is not in the same league. The hotel is in clear need of a comprehensive renovation. Soundproofing is a major issue, as noise travels easily between rooms, from the corridors, and even from the floors above, making it difficult to enjoy a quiet and restful stay. The rooms feel dated. While it’s obvious that some cosmetic updates have been made in an attempt to modernize them, they come across as superficial fixes rather than a genuine refurbishment. Overall, the experience was disappointing and fell well below the standard I have come to expect from the Mercure brand.

I just loved spending my stay in Nancy at this hotel. Besides the good room and amazing breakfast, it was the friendliness and high quality service that the people that work there, gave me. Special shout out to Aron for making me feel so welcome (almost 'at home), Lucy for making me a special tiny breakfast and the woman that took my postcards in and was willing to post them for me..... Nancy is a beautiful city to wonder around in and staying here was 'the cherry on the cake'. Thank you staff!
