Recently stayed at Ibis Darwin Airport and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The rooms were extremely cramped, and the bathroom light/exhaust fan runs on a timer, meaning it stays on for 10 minutes after use — very annoying late at night. Dinner at the Pool House Bar & Kitchen was equally underwhelming. Despite paying premium prices, there was no table service, long waits at the bar, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. The share plates were small and overpriced, and one dish was completely forgotten until we chased it up ourselves. Over $80 for 3 small share plates and 2 glasses of wine felt excessive for the quality and service received. It’s a shame because my previous stay a couple of years ago was excellent. Since the amalgamation of the Accor airport hotels, standards seem to have dropped significantly. The only real highlight was the pool. Overall, you’ll likely get far better value staying in town, even after paying for taxis.

While the Ibis was centrally located for us and meant we didn't need to hire a car, it was a very small room. We also were disappointed that the noise level during the early hours in the morning due to other guests. As our room was on the end of the building the door to enter/exit was extremely loud. I feel that the rooms could be more noise proof to allow guests to sleep in or not hear everyone in the mornings leaving their room. The staff were super helpful and the facilities were amazing. We would love to come back and stay at the Mecure next time.

Too long standing in line for checkin. Got to room had trouble with wifi so rang reception 3 times and no answer. Then got a helpful WhatsApp msg. Replied to it and got a response 15hrs later (after I’d checked out).

Our allocated room had not been cleaned. We had to go back several times to get a clean room with correctly matched key cards.
