The hotel is aging but the size of the room was good and location central to shopping precinct. Reduced staff and staff shortages played a key role in the quality of service. The restaurant was understaffed, management seemed to be worried about bottom line; tables, floors, windows, etc needed cleaning. Staying 7 days, the room was serviced once. There were no top sheets or pool towels available ( due to linen shortages?). The hotel needs refurbishing - lobby, rooms- air conditioning unit needed servicing,(room was cooled with fans as well) bathrooms showing signs of mould, cracks in tiles, etc. Breakfast was tasty, staff pleasant, but casual and a revolving lineup. Would we stay there again- probably not. Though reasonably priced initially, the Covid situation saw us pay an extra $500 for flexibility, which made the hotel expensive. Looking for increased atmosphere in restaurant and lobby. Darwin was the highlight.

Another great stay, but bed was short off linen only had a fitted sheet over mattress, nothing else in room. Had to go and ask for a sheet and donna to make the bed. Reception dealt with it quickly.

No cleaning, room was dirty, no batteries in the remote for the aircon or the tv. The blanket on the bed was underneath the sheets. Front of house staff were good.

This was a terrific spot for our last evening in the Territory. We were upgraded to a suite which gave us a spectacular view of the bay in the evening. The room was spacious, pleasantly furnished and decorated. Everything was functioning properly. One thing that would have been useful was a drying rack for drying clothes unsuitable for putting in a dryer.

Room was good with lovely water views. Restaurant was disappointing as on the day we arrived around 1 pm, we were told that they had run out of food! We had to rush out in the heat to get a light lunch elsewhere. Second day - restaurant was again closed lunch and dinner due to COVID. Location is ok

We stayed at the Mantra Darwin after having our previous booking cancelled due to covid. We were really looking forward to the visit and we were not disappointed. We were celebrating my husband's 74th birthday. Someone very artistic on the staff made not one but two lovely cards for my husband one as a welcome and the other delivered with our champagne. We enjoyed the downstairs bar and restaurant. We had a fabulous view from the 18th floor and the apartment was spacious, clean and private. Altogether a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel. 5 minute walk to Smith Street mall or Mitchell Street and 10 minute walk to Darwin Waterfront. Plenty of variety of restaurants and cafes close by. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony. Apartment was very clean and nicely laid out. It is ideal if you want to prepare your own meals. We stayed for 7 nights and were only offered housekeeping once, but were able to get fresh towels etc when requested. We had an issue with our air conditioner and in-room safe. Both issues were quickly resolved on the same day. The swimming pool was the only negative for us. It is in a terrible location as it is in the shade for most of the day and is therefore very cold. There are only about 1/2 dozen sun beds which is not enough for a hotel this size. If you are not one for lounging round pool in the sun, then we highly recommend it.

The Mantra was ok but not thrilling. Never advised as Accor members if our meals were discounted. We only ate breakfast once at the downstairs restaurant. Only one pillow each. Great view but noisy at night thanks to local music venue. Could have been better.

Thanks for your valuable feedback and we're glad that you enjoyed you stay overall. Accor loyalty members do not receive a restaurant discount however Accor Plus members do. Thanks for advising about the limited amount of pillows and sorry for the inconvenience.. Normally there are spare pillows in the cupboard; the linen supplier is waiting for a new stock of pillow cases to arrive in Darwin. Spare pillows can always be arranged with a quick call to reception or housekeeping. Thanks again for your comments and we hope to welcome you again for a better stay next time.

Dirty aircons

The airconditioner in our room wouldn’t cool the room down fully even after being on all day without anyone in the room. Upon further inspection the airconditioner was full of growing mould. We believe that the air conditioners all need to be cleaned and serviced. Our shower would also leak water all through the bathroom due to the shower not being sealed properly against the back wall.
