The stay was just average overall. The location is definitely a plus since it is convenient and easy to access many places around the area. However, the overall experience could have been better. The staff were not particularly friendly, which made the service feel a bit lacking. Another inconvenience was that breakfast was not provided in the same hotel, so guests had to go to a different hotel for it, which was not very practical. That said, if you are mainly looking for a place to sleep and the location is your main priority, and you do not mind these inconveniences, then this place could still be an option.

The units are a great size. Unfortunately everything is outdated. The lift is old and has panels missing. The picture frames are mouldy The bathrooms and furniture are dirty and old. We didn't have breakfast at the Esplanade. Instead we were told we can eat at the sister hotel down the road. We didn't get a welcome drink on the day because they ran out and we had to wait a day for the team to get drinks from the sister hotel. The foyer feels abandoned with a large visitor information centre that is empty. It is a real shame to see a hotel in such a good location with lots of potential get neglected as it is. We have stayed here a few times over the past year and it is getting worse within that time. We will be trying somewhere else for our next work trip.

Happy with the location. Staff at reception were friendly. However for a 5 night stay, no one came to clean the room, change any towels, empty any rubbish. The hot water was non existent, so mostly cold showers. I asked reception about rubbish I wanted to get rid of, they said someone will be there. No one came, so when I went looking for someone, they suggested I take it to the basement rather than offering to help me. For a hotel stay, paying the same amount as other hotels with similar services, it was disappointing.
