The lift is very slow and is not enough to service all apartments and housekeeping. Noisey early mornings and afternoons due to industrial area. Bed is too low and not comfortable, needs refurbishment.

We had initial concerns after we had made our reservations as we then discovered a number of dire reviews online listing various complaints. Fortunately we stuck with our plans and had a satisfactory stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The carpark was easily accessed. The bed was comfortable. There were some obvious signs of “wear & tear”, primarily with the condition of the curtains and scant kitchen accessories, but overall considering the rate paid we were ok with overall situation. Admittedly the site requires accepting you are virtually surrounded by an industrial estate but an advantage is reduced through traffic. If you have the time to explore the nearby wholesale confectionery outlet and/or the Pine’s Tea & Coffee establishment you might even discover some discounted bits and pieces. It’s not a picturesque Mantra but for us it provided basic and adequate accommodation in an area we needed to be in to attend a weekend conference. Luxury - No. Tolerable, in our case, Yes.

It was the worst Accor hotel of my life. Everything very different from the photos. I felt unsafe, hard to sleep in a very very dirty room with everything falling apart. It was awful.

The location was good however the room upon first entry smelled of smoke and stale air. There were crumbs next to the toaster on the bench which had not been cleaned up and the washing machine leaked water into the bathroom floor after each load. The shower head was 75% blocked with sediment protruding through the nozzle openings which I had to remove to get flow. I was very disappointed.

I realised at 9pm that no bath towels had been provided. I tried to call reception to ask for towels but there was no answer. I found a phone number on the Google maps listing & called that number & someone answered & delivered towels in about 30 mins. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, there was no bedside lamps & the handle & covering of the hairdryer was perishing & disgustingly sticky. I don’t recommend this hotel & I won’t be staying there again.

Upon check-in I could not access my room as the key did not work. I then received a new key and it also didn't work. The lady at reception was trying her best to be helpful, so this complaint is not directed at her. Then she advised I could not keep my key near any electronics. To which i asked to be moved to a room with the new key system. Instead of checking the rooms first, I was taken floor to floor to look at the 2 available rooms - which were not cleaned and therefore could not be used. I was back to my original room, with keys that I couldn't carry around in my bag. The room itself wasn't well maintained. It was clean, but it needs updating. The shower was mouldy and the fridge leaked. During the night I kept hearing water dripping, check the taps but it was't from them. In the morning there was a large puddle from the fridges on the floor. I think this hotel needs to be more well maintained, the lock systems updated to keys that you are able to carry with you, and staff more adequately trained for smooth check in processes.

Stayed one night and chose it for its location and name, being a mantra but while on route I received a phone call telling me the lift was not working but by then it was too late to try and find another place to stay,. Even though I booked directly with hotel there was no communication on the location as it is located in bays of workshops and confusing when arriving after dark. Had to call back to have confirmation sent and they then confused me with another guest. Once I the room it was easy to see the bed was 2 beds pushed together and very flat. After a long day I just wanted to zone out with tv but nope no cable from wall to tv. The lovely night staff tried to assist but no cables to fit. To the lovely night lady and young guy they were amazing but even in the morning when I checked out and the night were still there 12 hours later another lady hid behind the door even hearing the issues, no offer of discount or apologies from management. A very negative experience, management only concerned with greed and a let down for the Mantra name

Stains on carpet, lounge was even worse, spilt organic matter under lounge pillow that stunk so bad I dry reached. Mould in all fridge linings. Cutlery, plates and glasses were all filthy. Stinking unemtied bin outside my bedroom window. Gym door that leads to on level 1 courtyard that has access to the street was left open all night, providing access to all of Level 1 for whom ever wandered in. No remote for TV, disgusting stains on chairs around kitchen table. Something that looked like blood stains on the curtains to the door to courtyard. Courtyard full of crap, milk crates and rubbish strewn all over. I complained to the front desk about the above and asked for the manager to call me. That was 3 weeks ago. I have photos of all of this that I intend to pass on the the media. I travel regularly for work, particularly in country areas where the accommodation is somewhat modest. However I have never stayed in a more disgusting filthy hotel. Our company has blacklisted your hotel, we can't have our staff stay in such a pigsty. This hotel has failed to meet the most basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Can some please contact me 04…

Place located in industrial type area, no ac except in 1 of 3 king bedrooms, stained lounge chair, no block out curtains/sheer with some falling off the curtain rail, cockroaches, soiled washing machine. Beds were made and towelling replaced. We couldn’t sit on the floors as an option as it didn’t look clean.

Turned up to a room not cleaned. 2 hours later still no room and late for a function. Cancelled booking and was promised a refund. MULTIPLE REQUESTS FOR MANAGER TO CALL ME - Never happened. Had to lodge a credit card dispute through bank to get a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The staff were pleasant… however that’s about the limit of my positive comments. It took 3 attempts to find the entrance… not great signage, some more information in the confirmation email would be helpful for those arriving by foot. I arrived in a day where the lift was down, I was given a room upgrade which was a nice touch, but meant a room on the 5th floor and walking up all the steps. When I got to the room and it was okay on first look. Unfortunately no water in the fridge, this wasn’t a big deal, but over the following 4-6 hours I spotted numerous baby cockroaches, then two bigger ones right before going to bed. I didn’t make a point of it at the time because It was late and the reception had closed and I just wanted to sleep. More baby cockroaches spotted in the morning meant I checked out right away. I didn’t have super high expectations, based on some reviews that were public, but given the amount i paid for the night I did expect more than I got… the upgrade meant very little at this point. Unfortunately I won’t be booking here again.
