Very happy with the stay and services provided by IBIS Thornleigh. An ideal location for public transport and connection to major roads. Room comfortable and quiet. The room was comfortable and quiet. Friendly and obliging staff.

It was a good stay for 2 nights, the room was nice and quiet which was a pleasant relief from the busyness of Sydney. The food was nice so I'm happy with that. The only downside was that the shower had mould on the glass door and there was mould on the mirror in the bedroom, it would only take 10 minutes with some bleach and windex to clean it up.

Bathroom way to small and the towels don't dry due to a room full of steam.

Good clean, basic hotel, very well placed for those travelling via Sydney. HINT: do not use the North Connex tunnel or you miss it. Use Pennant Hills Rd. Bistro was open for breakfast and dinner with a small but adequate menu. Try the curry - always good. Rooms are typical Ibis, small but functional and always clean. Unlike some Ibis in Europe, those in Australia have decent towels and amenities. Very close to buses and within walking distance of the train, so travelling to other parts of Sydney quite easy to do.

Check in was painful; booked 2 rooms; were given keys for both but 1 room hadn't been cleaned. Had to wait another hour before the 2nd room was ready (this was a 6pm check-in so no excuse) and staff attitude was ordinary....I had to chase them up.

We only spent two nights at Ibis Thornleigh, however, the room was so very small and almost claustrophobic. The bathroom swayed underfoot and made me feel “sea sick” (so to speak) The room was not serviced and the poor girl working on her own (and struggling) had to bring up fresh towels.

The general experience was good with the exception of tripping over the door sill when preparing to depart in the morning and hitting my head and shoulder against the opposite wall, as I have had major recent surgery on my neck. Following the fall I needed to attend Hornsby hospital for Xrays and scans and fortunately being discharged around 12 hours later. This is by no means a complaint just a record of the facts. May I recommend that a sign is placed on the door indicating the raised sill. When I fell and was not able stand for a short period of time I would like to thank two of your staff for the assistance and care given to firstly Edna (the cleaner) and Patrick (Manager I think) although experience was of concern the assistance and care was something that you can be proud off. Apologies for taking so long to respond to this review it has been a very difficult week for me. On another note a friend who visited me over the last two days stayed at the same hotel following my recommendation.

Experience overall was excellent from initial telephone call to book a room to check-in and check-out. The location with close proximity to the M1 was ideal. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities needed for my overnight stay. The only downside was a regular bang from either within the wall or from outside the room which was a bit disconcerting.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel, probably nearly 200 times (we received some time ago reference from the hotel for our 100th stay) but on this occasion it was not the usual standard. We had a booking for three nights, one night then absent, and another for one night. On the first stay we returned to the hotel about 3.00 pm in the afternoon to find the room not serviced. We asked the cleaner not to bother. However, on the final day the room was not serviced again, three days without any servicing. We had to ask for dry towels. We were phoned on two occasions to say the restaurant would not be open which we appreciated being notified in advance. However, on the final night after returning from dinner outside the hotel, the chef (we know him well due to our numerous stays) came to say 'hello'. When told we were informed the restaurant would not be open he was rather mystified. The staff were pleasant and the room clean when we arrived. However, the grounds certainly need attention, rubbish and papers everywhere. One staff member said he had been instructed to weed the garden, a pity it was an instruction to collect the rubbish. We will probably stay again if it isn't closed for their renovations and hopefully things will have improved. Also, I had prebooked this stay sometime earlier and could have cancelled and booked through 'red hot rooms', but didn't like causing any problems with the booking, now regret that I didn't do so.
