Receptionist was very unwell when checking in and shouldn't have been working. She could barely speak or hear. The bathroom floor seemed wobbly, and the door didn't close properly, the bed sheets weren't even set properly, and the pillows were yellowed inside and well and truly past their use. It was hard to sleep thinking about what else may have been unhygenic. I didn't mention anything as I checked in at 11pm and the lady told me the entire hotel was booked out and she could barely hear me when I was speaking as she said she may have had an ear infection. Having sick staff coming into work coughing everywhere, is dangerous, both for the staff member and the visitors. I gave 3 stars as the accommodation was cheap and there was 24/7 check in available which in my circumstances was useful.

I always choose to stay at the Ibis Thornleigh when visiting Sydney. I stay because of the cost, it's comfortable, it's clean and conveniently located near the M1.

Comfortable bed and relatively dark room, but slightly awkward location without a car

The hotel looks a bit old and tired. A bit expensive for what it is. Bathroom looks like it's on a ship, quite small. However the bed is comfortable and I slept well. Curtains block out the light well and it's dark and well soundproofed. Good for a night or two. Breakfast OK but also pricey. The location is well away from shops and the railway station. Would be better if you have a car.
