I never stayed at the hotel. I checked in, saw the room briefly (which I wasn’t satisfied with because people next door were screaming). I went back downstairs and unfortunately got a message that my mother was unwell, so I told the staff concierge that I was happy to pay for the night but might not come back for the following two nights and asked whether he could cancel charges for them. He stated to “just leave it as it is” and since I had to leave I told him I’d call the next day to cancel if I needed to (upon his instructions to do so). The next day I went back and he refused to refund me. He only refunded me one night and I never even stayed there. I will never return at any Novotel hotels.

Our 2nd stay at Novotel Devonport confirmed why we decided to go back. We stayed 3 nights and were allocated a room upgrade to an executive suite. It was really great and we enjoyed it very much. We had our electric bikes with us and the location is perfect for setting off for a ride. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in all our interactions with front desk, cafe and housekeeping. They created a really good vibe.
