We arrived after 6pm on our day of check-in, only to find out that the hotel did not have a record of us staying there. We had booked our holiday through Qantas holidays, using Qantas Frequent Flyer points. The hotel had access to the Qantas portal, and there was no record of us there either. Had I not printed out the confirmation page when I booked, I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. The hotel was fantastic. Couldn't speak more highly of them. They did what needed to be done so we had accommodation for the week, even though they were booked out at one stage.

2nd time staying with the mantra in launceston with my 2 teen sons. The man with the beard did not smile when we walked in and I was hoping he wouldnt serve me as the smiley man was serving my friend (who stayed their as I recommended it to her), and I had the feeling he wanted to not be nice. He explained that my room had been changed to an interconnecting room and not the executive suite I had been booked in so I said thats fine as long as I'm not charged the $200 extra the executive suite costs. Then he proceeded to argue that it is the same room costs. I gave up arguing (as we were all there for a funeral) and went to the rooms... which were infact executive suites... oh my goodness why do you have this very unhappy and confused man on front desk (I hope he's not the manager). The room had dark lights that blew 2 days into the stay. The remote batteries need to be changed. The mattress was so deformed I had to sleep sideways as there is a massive lump in the bed. I didnt want to complain to the guy with the beard as we was always grumpy. Breakfast restaurant was amazing the staff in there are so accommodating and truly wonderful. The other staff on the front desk were lovely (just not the beard guy). Sorry to say... I love the Mantra chain but next time I will stay at a different hotel in Launceston. Thank you
