Location is great, walking distance from the Ranger Station, saving a trip to the Visitor Centre. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The Tavern is also cosy and serves great food. Most importantly conveniently next to many of the nature walks.

The receptionist kind of set the tone, not overly inviting or helpful, room provided wasn't the room that was booked (thinking travel agent error), so had to return to reception in the rain, service was still lacking, another person came over, his service was also not very good, after paying an extra $500 for the room I booked to start with, it was nicely set out but had wear and tear, creaky floors, loose tiles, door handle got stuck down all the time.

Having to return to reception in the rain after being allocated the incorrect room would have been frustrating, and I apologise that the service you received during this process did not meet expectations. While I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the room once relocated, I appreciate your comments regarding the maintenance concerns, including the creaky floors, loose tiles and door handle. As one of Australia's oldest wilderness lodges, some of our accommodation does reflect its character and history, however this should never come at the expense of guest comfort. Booking was awkward and confirmation was lengthy. I attended a wedding ceremony and reception I was told by the marrying couple that there would be a 15% discount, tried to book through website and was unable to navigate. Contracted reception over multiple days leaving a msg but did not receive a response the first couple of times. Finally got through to reception/ bookings then was told that the website was a different price and DID NOT receive the discount that was supposed to receive being a guest of Nathan and Courtney's wedding. I considered booking elsewhere but family from interstate were staying there somewhat disappointed in the whole booking and confirmation process which overall took 6 days. For a supposedly high end accommodation I was not happy that there was no Wi Fi or TV in room. Commendations to all the staff during the stay they were friendly and efficient, service was good with the exception of Thursday evening meal which was out of balance with some meals coming out to the table approximately 20 plus minutes later some of our table had finished their meals before the last meals came out to the table. One of our favourite places to relax

Our check in process was excellent and the young lady who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was not ready (we were early so that was fine) and I headed to the bistro to finish some work and my friend went for a long walk and returned about 3 pm. Our room was ready at 2. When my friend arrived she went straight for the shower only to discover the shower head was broken and would not stay in an upright position. We reported this to the staff at reception on our way to dinner at approximately 5.30 pm and was assured someone would fix it asap. By 10 the next morning, we had not heard anything so I rang reception to find out what was happening but they said they didn’t know anything about it and would add our request to the list. I advised them we did not have a usable shower and they said they would put us at the top of this list. At about 11.30, two young men arrived and attempted to fix the shower and discovered it required a whole new shower head. We had an appt at the spa so left them to it at around 1 pm and when we returned at 3pm it was all fixed. When we checked out the next morning we mentioned this experience to the young lady at reception and she informed us to put it in an email to her manager. We asked was there someone we could speak to on site and she said no, it was best to put it in an email to the manager. She seemed quite annoyed that we were asking. We explained it seemed ridiculous that we had already explained our poor experience to her and felt it was unnecessary to then have to email someone else. In the end she reluctantly agreed to pass on our concerns and said we should hear back on Monday from “someone” which we did not. This was a really disappointing experience- my friend travelled from interstate to join me for what was meant to be a fabulous weekend away. I am an Accor member and have travelled extensively in the Accor network and this is not the sort of experience I would expect.

Having to follow up multiple times, particularly when the shower was unusable, is not the level of service we aim to provide. I am equally disappointed to hear about the communication surrounding your concerns at check-out. You should never feel as though your feedback is an inconvenience, and I apologise that this was the impression left with you. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and will be reviewing both the maintenance response and communication process with our team to ensure we improve.
