Terrible Sound Insulation - Deluxe Rooms

The most expensive rooms, Deluxe, facing the river have terrible sound insulation. I was on the 4th floor and could hear every word being spoken on the courtyard below. Further on Friday and maybe Saturday, live music is played which only compounds the problem.

First class hotel : for service, for food, for room size, for outlook. I should add that the Grain restaurant is now the best in town: imaginative menu, beautifully cooked and presented, served unhurriedly and without pretension.

It is consistently perfect. I stay every couple weeks for work and have gotten to know staff. It is always satisfying to be welcomed with familiar smiles, as opposed to hotels where staff turn over is really high. Having long standing loyal staff is worth its weight on gold.
