Hotel looks great from outside, inside it’s a motel disguised with hotel prices. No acknowledgment of Accor loyalty on check in, and staff member was very unfriendly. Room itself was large, however backed straight onto a carpark with cars parked less than a meter from our window and could see directly in. Had to keep curtains closed the whole stay because of this so had no natural light. Could constantly hear every conversation, footsteps, slamming car door, waking us up at 5am. Bathroom was nicely updated, however extremely small, couldn’t even turn tap on without water going everywhere. Amenities in the room were a kids size water bottle, 3 tiny cheap chocolates and not even a note. Bar/restaurant was closed on the Sunday, on Monday tried to redeem welcome drinks. Had run out of the one red wine they offered as the complimentary, and bartender refused to give us another type of wine, despite it being the exact same price. Overall, not in line with the price or the expectations of the Mercure brand as a Gold member. Wouldn’t stay again.
