Booked one day too early and then wanted to change. They had a lot of different excuses why it is not possible: mentioned it before check in. ( had to wait 45 min till someone was at the reception). Girls sad not possible. I paid double the price per night than the other people in my room. Every night/ day there was an event with insane loud music you could hear in the room. Before I used to have rooms with nice views and very silent that’s why I went back. I send a mail ti explain and I was asked to come to the reception . Just to tell me the same as they have said in the mail. They made an “offer” with 10% off the price and a free towel( this is a standard offer if you book directly with them). And I was told that it is. It possible to change because I checked in already. I was a customer who always chose for this hostel even though it got dirtier, louder and unfriendly over the years. Not coming back for sure.

This was one of the worst hostels I’ve been to, bad location, super expensive, my blind was missing on my bunk and I was across from the bright thermostat which couldn’t be dimmed. The hostel service was awful and cleaning come in at 10am on the dot to clean. Wakes u up without any knocking or warning.

I was disappointed this time. I stayed at J&J before but this time I was placed in a room where the beds had no curtains and my head was directly next to the door. People in the room were having their lights on until 3 in the night and the first people started packing their stuff and making noise already again at 5am. The room door cannot be closed quietly because of the handle and the drawers below the beds can only be opened right next to the people sleeping in the lower bunks. The loud aircon had to be running the whole night, otherwise it would be too hot and humid in the room because the windows could not be opened. It seems like a person who has never stayed in a hostel has designed this room. It makes it even worse that I paid extra money to get a lower bunk bed.

I’ve stayed here many times because it in convenient, safe , clean and I like the vibe. I did like it better when there were privacy shades on the lower bunks though.
