Wow - our family can't wait to return to the Fairmont Mayakoba Heritage Place. We had such a fantastic experience with Daniel and Rodrigo. Our suite was well maintained, and the monkeys swinging by made it that much more magical. It was truly the first vacation I've had that I did not want to leave. If we had had our dog, we would have become permanent residents! Bravo, Fairmont - you should be very proud of the property.

This was our first time in Riviera Maya/Mayakoba and it was one of the best vacations we’ve had. We were one of four families – 16 total. We stayed at the Heritage residence and the unit was exceptional, and comfortably fit 8 of us. It was so great to have a kitchen, living/dining and balconies to hang out between activities and meals. It is a little far to the beach (1.3 miles) but the Fairmont makes it as easy as possible to get there with golf carts that make the rounds at the hotel to pick up and drop off guests. We were fortunate to have butler service which came with the Heritage, and were able to request the golf carts. There were countless gorgeous pools and for this time of year, lounge chairs at the pool and beach were plentiful. The service was outstanding, honestly above and beyond. Alejandro and Agustin were incredibly thoughtful and responsive. We bombarded them with questions, requests for dinner reservations and excursions, and they anticipated our needs and exceeded expectations every time. This sentiment applies to all the staff at Fairmont, from the staff at the front desk, pools, beach, water activities, drivers/boat captain, restaurants, room service, gardeners, etc. – everyone was kind and warm. A shout out to our room attendants – Antonio, Sarai and Doris – who left us sweet notes every day and did an amazing job. Our party did multiple excursions through Mayakoba Experiences (ATV/snorkeling with turtles/cenote, Tulum ruins/cenote, and whale shark snorkeling) and they were incredible. It may be a little more, but having Mayakoba transportation and service was very much worth it. We were taken care of every step of the way and we didn’t have to stress about the details, especially for our large group. We did the all inclusive package, and every single meal was excellent. Always something for everyone. As others noted, make reservations before you get to the hotel, as the tables fill up fast. I can’t think of a single constructive thing to say, the Fairmont sets a very high bar for other hotels now! Can't wait to visit again!!

our family stayed in a 3 bedroom, ground floor residence. the place was amazing. food was excellent, staff were great. I do wish there were more swim up type bars, but that's ok. also seemed like there could be more bikes available, but maybe that was just where we were. overall, an incredible trip for our family.

I can't say enough about our stay in Mayakoba. The accommodations were beautiful, the service was fantastic, and the property was so lush. The monkeys were very entertaining, along with the beautiful tropical birds that we saw around the property. Restaurants were great -- especially enjoyed Fuego with the wood fired chips and salsas. The staff was very helpful and made us feel at home.

As discussed with the Manager on property - we had ants in our room, our meals at most of the restaurants on the property were sub-par, our butlers were hard to reach and slow to respond, we lost hot water in the showers one evening and one of the butlers never showed up to take us to dinner even though we confirmed the pickup and time via text. He went so far to ask us to walk to the lobby and to get a ride there instead. And at checkout, our bill was wrong with a dinner charge for someone else although the room number and signature was not mine.

I also regret the billing error at checkout, which understandably added to your frustration. Please rest assured that each of these matters is being reviewed with the respective teams to ensure immediate corrective actions are taken. We are reinforcing service standards, response times, and verification processes to prevent these situations from recurring. We booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. In my opinion, this property does not qualify. Upon being dropped off at the Heritage Place lobby, I sensed something was off. The feeling was underwhelming. After finally checking in, we waited on someone to finally bring us to the room and then waited forever more for our bags. The villa itself is nice. No view. Not close to the beach at all- advertising does not show this on purpose. Our butler never showed up. We returned after dinner and searching for live music at the Rosewood, only to find we had no hot water. I called for help to be told the maintenance staff left at 10PM. The next morning we waited forever for a golf cart to take us to the beach. Had a lovely breakfast. Then went to the pool chairs I had quickly claimed and left items in while we had breakfast. Back in the chairs, I tried to order a drink at 10:30 only to be told now pool or beach service until noon. This is not what vacation is all about. We checked out and moved to the Rosewood where we were more than taken care of. Your service level must improve drastically in order for your hotel to grow.

My family and I were extremely pleased with the facilities at Heritage Place, and the service was wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. My only qualm is with the billing, which was quoted in US dollars, converted to and charged in Mexican pesos, and then back to US dollars again by my credit card company; unfortunately to my disadvantage. With that being said, we would definitely stay at one of the Mayakoba's properties again, but be sure to clarify our expectations upfront.
