This Hidden Gem Should be Your Next Cancun Stay

The SLS Cancun is a beautiful boutique hotel experience on a gorgeous beach with nearby access to shopping and kite surfing. The poolside service from Antonio is phenomenal as is the view of the water from the pool deck. There is a DJ playing amazing original remixes beachside where you can dine on delicious pizza most every day of the week! Tuesday and Thursday evenings do not miss Channa, her romantic musical stylings should not be missed, as you dine on restaurant Cleo's sumptuous Mediterranean menu. Once you retire to your room enjoy space and scenery with rain-shower and balcony, and start your day with a trip to the well-appointed gym facilities.

Beautiful Property, Great Service

Recently stayed here to have a nice get away for my fiancé's birthday. We were pleased with the room; we booked the ocean front king room. The room itself was really nice and spacious with a nice living room area, large bathroom with double head showers, and soaking tub for 2. The check in process was not the smoothest because had to wait a little while, 10 mins or so for our room keys, which was inconvenient after the stress of travel, but once we got up to the room it was lovely. The pool is nice, but I wish they kept it hot at all times, it was always cold when we wanted to get in, and with our days planned out with off property activities we did not have time to wait for it to heat up. But none the less it was a beautiful pool and view, and the service was nice, Antonio greeted us with towels as soon as he saw us go for a seat in one of the loungers. The highlight for us was the staff members at the restaurant we would visit for breakfast daily, it's now a Mediterranean style restaurant called Cielo. I didn't get the name of the first server we had, but he was very attentive and pleasant. We did get the name of our other server Diadelys L who took care of us our final mornings, she was very sweet, attentive, and she absolutely provided the luxury service we are used to, I'm a F&B Manager in the luxury hospitality industry, and I would gladly have her work at our property. Another staff member Hector V was also a highlight of our stay, we had quite a few questions about old Cancun, Playa Mujeres, and other places we were planning on venturing out to, he answered every one of them with true personal and professional answers, his personability is perfect for the hospitality industry. They both left us with a genuine lasting impression. Monica at the front desk assisted us with our car keys a few times, and our check out process, she was very helpful and pleasant as well. We will definitely stay again in the future due to the employees and their service.

Not a 5 star hotel!

We stayed here for two nights in January 2025. First, this is not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Also scale back your expectations of a typical SLS hotel. Cons: 1. The pictures of a highrise and large lap pool are deceptive. This is a residential building and the large pool is only for residents and not hotel guests. The hotel has rooms in the first three floors.2. this hotel is situated at a bay, so you will not see or experience the azure blue Caribbean ocean and waves. It is a still body of water filled with algae.3. The staff is mostly uninformed and new. 4. We stayed two nights and no room cleaning, making beds whatsoever. 5. There is one Mediterranean restaurant here and not a Brazilian as some websites suggest. The food is ok but overpriced. Pros: 1. The room is large, spacious and modern. Make sure you book ocean front rooms otherwise you will have a construction highrise in front of you. 2. Room service was good. The quality of the food as well as the service were good. The breakfast (30$) is ok. Overall, we will not return as we can find so many other outstanding hotels right on the beach on hotel row.

AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!

AVOID THIS HOTEL! The staff is highly unprofessional & the hotel is dirty. The location isn't near anything else so you are at their mercy for food. We ordered room service that never came and when we called to check on it they said they didn't receive any order and hung up. Once the manager got involved, we were afraid to eat anything from them due to the rude attitudes. We didn't trust that they wouldn't spit in our food. Our experience was so terrible we ended up checking out and finding a different hotel at 11pm on Christmas Eve. There are so many hotels in Cancun, pick any other! This experience ruined our vacation.

Think Cosmo (Las Vegas) but with a "beach."

The beach setup (named Bungalow) and the calm waters is great, but littered with seaweed - this is not hotel zone beach quality so set your expectations accordingly. Leynia, the hotel restaurant had some of the better food in Cancun, empanadas and chilaquiles were awesome. What really puzzled me is the party music (EDM trap, melodic, dance) was on blast 9AM to 12midnight daily, but did not match the crowd, or lack thereof. I'm a raver, but grew tire of non-stop music by the 2nd day considering the hotel's proximity (first three floors only) to the pool where the music was being blasted. Yes, there's only 3 floors (all lower levels adjacent to the beach) of hotel estate meanwhile the rest are residential. The pool is also split up as well with the larger of the two exclusively belonging to the residents, thus the pictures online of SLS Cancun are deceiving. I did not see a single resident outside during my three day stay. Hotel guests were few and scattered as well as there were maybe a max of 20-30 guests (including children) I saw at any given time so the setting is more intimate. 10m-15m walk to Marina Puerto Cancun shopping center and 5m walk to 7-Eleven is a must/plus since this is not an AI hotel.
