Had the best trip here. Property has been so nicely renovated since our last visit in 2018. Stunning. Food was 12/10 good. Strongly recommend Fuego (catch of the day was better than we have had in Michelin star restaurants) and Tauro (steakhouse - service, steak, and cocktails all incredible). People made the trip - Javier and Fernanda our butlers were the kindest and most attentive people. Irvin by the swim up bar makes the best cocktails in the game (and is such a wonderful human - just like Javier and Fernanda). We were even lucky to see Alejandro who is now a butler but introduced me to Mezcal 7 years ago by the pool - he’s one of the best people - and a good sign that this property invests in their people. We will be back and have decided this is simply our favourite beach property in Mexico. We even stayed at the Rosweood in Mayakoba - which was also great and had awesome service - but for the value the Fairmont is the best. Cannot wait to come back.

Concierge was not good. I emailed 2 weeks before to ask for help with dinner reservations and if there was a Mexican dinner/festival on Mayakoba property. He replied he would look into it. I never heard back. When we arrived we learned the Korean BBQ isn’t open each day. So we asked if there was availability that night. He said only at 6:30. The 8:30 was full. We had a wonderful dinner at 6:30. We were the only people there. And there we learned only 4 people were coming at 8:30. He needs more training. Or to be held accountable. We constantly had bugs looking like a centipede on the floor in our room. And how is it, you have to lock the slider to keep away the raccoons, but the door to the outdoor shower doesn’t lock. So any one could jump the fence and enter our room. Creepy feeling not to be locked in at night time. I checked out thru the email I received on check out day. I have yet to receive my bill. I find it odd that water in the rooms are glass and free but water from the bars we were charged. We were not all inclusive, but our drinks tasted like they were so watered down like other all inclusive. Not impressed with any of the bartenders. Big shout out to Carlos (I think that was his name) at the Italian restaurant for making us the best Mayan Coffees!

While we are pleased to know that you enjoyed aspects such as the beauty of the resort, the quality of our poolside dining, and the outstanding Mayan Coffee experience prepared by Carlos at our Italian restaurant, we are truly sorry for the multiple service lapses that affected your visit. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we want to sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you experienced, particularly with concierge communication, room comfort, and follow-up after checkout. We deeply regret the lack of response to your pre-arrival requests and the inaccurate information provided regarding restaurant availability. This is far from the level of service and attentiveness we strive to offer, and your comments have already been shared with our Senior Manager and each leadership team involved to reinforce training and accountability. We also apologize for the discomfort caused by insects entering the room and for the concern regarding the outdoor shower door. Our maintenance and safety teams have been notified to review the area and ensure proper sealing and security. Regarding your pending invoice, we understand how frustrating it is not to receive it promptly. Our team will ensure that your folio is re-sent immediately through the correct channels in maximum 72 hours . Additionally, your feedback about the inconsistency in water charges, watered-down drinks, and the limited availability of bikes and golf carts has been shared with the respective department leaders for immediate improvement. Thank you as well for highlighting the long wait times at dinner and the attitude of swim-up bartenders. These moments do not reflect our standards of warm, attentive hospitality, and we will be addressing them directly with our Manger Director. Despite the challenges, we are grateful for your recognition of the beautiful beach and pool experience, as well as the quality of lunch offerings at both pool and beach areas. Your kind words about Carlos will be personally shared with him, as recognition from our guests means a great deal to our colleagues. We had a great week again at Fairmont Mayakoba. We stayed at a villa on the beach this year and views and service were amazing. Our butlers Fernanda & Javier were the best part of the trip. They took care of EVERYTHING and made the experience first class!
