Paid for elite. My butler is as off on one of my 4 day. I as not assigned a new butler. My birthday was not recognized after my family communicated this. Barely heard from or ever saw my butler. He didn’t even realize when we left. We didn’t know how to find out about activities at the resort. Restaurant are closed on certain days. Just a lot of operational flaws. When I voiced my concerns to management, I was gift a cheap free cup as an apology and the service still didn’t improve.

We had a wonderful week at SLS Playa Mujeres. I knew from the drive up to the lobby that this was going to be the nicest resort we've had the privilege of staying at. The restaurants are all breathtaking and tastefully decorated to match their cuisine, and all dinners are a la carte which we loved! This was by and far the best food we've had on vacation. The rooms are well-appointed (my only complaint is there is very little storage space for luggage and unpacking), balconies are perfect for lounging or hosting friends, I loved that the extra bed in the room was a pull out that could be easily tucked away. My absolute favourite part was the extremely attentive poolside service. The staff were so on the ball, they came around every 15-20 minutes to check on us. You could order lunch, drinks and coffees to your lounge chairs which was extremely appreciated while traveling with young kids who took lounge chair naps or wanted to stay in the pool. I'm not one to return to the same place on repeat but I would make an exception for this resort.

I traveled with a group of 9 for my 60th birthday. We loved everything about the hotel except the freezing cold pool. The grounds were clean, we loved our rooms, the staff were amazing and the restaurants were all enjoyable. I left off a couple of stars because of a few things. I was convinced to book what I was told was a “private” wine cellar room at the steakhouse for my birthday celebration, and when we got there we discovered the room was not private. It was just a separate room off of the main restaurant where there were three large tables, and there was another party of about ten people having a celebration at the same time. The space was lovely and we enjoyed ourselves, but I felt like this was quite deceptive. I paid almost $500 extra for the service and they also added an additional service charge on top that was never mentioned. We had left a large cash tip so when I mentioned it during check out they removed the service charge. The second thing was that there was a mystery charge of $115 applied to my Amex card by the hotel and I have no idea what it is for. It was not on my bill when I checked out but I see it pending on my credit card since I’ve come home.

Unfortunately, no one has a clue what they are doing at this property. Front desk attendants are incompetent, complicate simple requests, debate your guest experience. This is the only luxury property where I’m told no one knows who the GM is. Service at restaurants is incredibly slow. Waited 1 hour for a fruit bowl on the beach. It is the only property where a guest can have a bad experience and it be debated by management. Poor customer service for the hospitality industry. No urgency to make things better or enhance the experience at all. Of all SLS properties this was by far the worst experience I’ve encountered. The worst part is no one cares if you’re having a bad experience. There is no one to speak to that can rectify things accordingly like a GM.

Totally bad. I wouldn't recommend this place. I think its great if you are part of the Jewish community only. Other than that, its a scam for others. owners are making money off of us the others.
