We stayed at SLS Playa Mujeres for the second time (our first visit was August 2025) from December 2–10 to celebrate our destination wedding, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We had 32 guests, all staying four or more nights, and the entire week—and especially the wedding—went seamlessly thanks to the incredible resort staff, wedding team, and preferred vendors. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. From the beautifully maintained grounds to the thoughtful details in the food and service, everything reflects a high level of care and quality. We stayed in an SLS Elite Ocean View Rooftop King, and it was 100% worth it. The rooftop was perfect for afternoon sunbathing and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. If a rooftop isn’t available, I highly recommend at least booking an ocean view—the sunrises are truly breathtaking. We were lucky to have Luis as our butler, and he went above and beyond for both us and my parents. We didn’t initially think we’d need a butler, but he made an enormous difference—helping with dinner reservations, upgrades, spa appointments, and any small requests that came up. Thanks to him, the trip genuinely felt like a stress-free vacation. Our wedding exceeded every expectation, and our guests still haven’t stopped raving about it—some are even talking about coming back for vow renewals! The ceremony took place on the rooftop at Smoke & Mirrors, where the weather was absolutely perfect. Cocktail hour followed on the Marina Lawn with passed hors d’oeuvres, an acoustic guitarist, and a satellite bar. Dinner and the reception were held at Golden Hour, timed perfectly with a stunning sunset that set the tone for the entire evening. The food—especially the Mexican buffet—was one of the best meals of the weekend. The steak was so tender it literally melted in your mouth. Alfonso, our onsite wedding coordinator, deserves special recognition. I placed a lot of trust in him, and he truly exceeded every expectation. From coordinating guests, vendors, and timelines to handling last-minute changes, he was calm, organized, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire week. Our wedding day simply would not have been what it was without him. There were also a few standout team members we’d love to recognize: Yasmina (Yasmine), who hosted us at many of our meals and always remembered us with the warmest smile; Hector at Monkey Bar, who crafted amazing custom cocktails for our guests; the Twiggy Pool bar staff, who handled our large group of 32 with ease and positivity every single time; and Ben, one of the bellhops, who was incredibly quick to recognize us and always on top of arranging transportation. Whether it was coordinating pickups and drop-offs to Isla Mujeres, the Marina, or anywhere else we needed to go, Ben made logistics effortless and stress-free. Overall, we wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding or our stay. We fully plan to return for years to come, and SLS Playa Mujeres truly feels like our second home now. Spent a week with son's family, unfortunately, we all caught the flu bug, therefore did not get to enjoy all the amenities of the resort. Overall, the stay is nice, resort facilities are very new, clean and all staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.
