Great room, location and facilities. Service in downstairs restaurant on both evenings was very slow. We had to ask twice for drink service despite being the only people in the bar and numerous staff present. We then after ordering had to wait 20 mins for the drinks to arrive by which time we had well finished our meals and were ready to leave. The drinks only came when we spoke up.

The design and vibe of the hotel is great and very unique. With pictures of legendary Italian football players adorning the lifts. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, modern and recently refurbished.
The breakfast was excellent, great choice and very good quality. Great coffee options available (as you'd expect in Italy)
Good location for Vatican City and a short walk from the metro to get anywhere else in the city. We managed to find a few good restaurants locally each evening which were more reasonably priced than central Rome.
However some of the little details are lacking. I was surprised that the coffee and tea in the room is only provided on your first night and not the other nights, despite paying the same price each night. Also there was no milk for the coffee and tea provided. When we asked we had to pay for milk. Not what you expect in a good quality hotel that you've paid a premium for compared to other stays.
The fact you have to reserve a slot to use the pool is unusual but that's clearly because the pool is small and the hotel is large. However it was flexible and could be rearranged. The issue is you get 1 hour per day and that included pool and gym use. This was disappointing as our children wanted to use the pool everyday and due to their age need close supervision. Which meant I could not use the gym at a seperate time in the early morning. I can't see why you cant use the gym at other times. I never saw anyone using the gym.
They need closer supervision of the pool area. The lockers are temperamental. The code didn't work when we tried to retrieve our belongings and we had to contact reception 3 times and wait around 30 minutes before someone came to open it. Often there were no towels in the lockers as their should be. On two separate occasions there were very disruptive unsupervised children taking over the pool. I'm no shrinking violet and know children are boisterous (I have two of my own) however on one occasion three teenagers were continually throwing a tennis ball across the pool with force over peoples heads and narrowly avoiding hitting people despite others trying to swim and given how small the pool is it was clearly inappropriate. They were told off my other adults but staff members was around to deal with it properly. On another occasion there was another child continually diving in the pool, splashing everyone, again I have no issue with this and would encourage kids to jump, dive and enjoy themselves but when you see how small the pool is and the fact there are signs prohibiting diving (because the pool is so shallow and there is an internal step all around) there is a reason why. That went on for over an hour and no member of staff was seen at all. It spoilt the limited time we had in the pool.

There were nts in one of the rooom!
Rooftop restahosyess not very pleasant put us in a bad place although i have booked and i had to ask the manager to do change our place

Very nice hotel, very friendly staff, extensive breakfast. Pool/sauna was a nice addition ( although you have to make a reservation, which is, on the other hand, fully understandable)

Nice place, well-located, friendly staff, and a beautiful rooftop; however, the swimming pool and gym are small, so access is limited to 20 people at a time, and you need to book in advance. The swimming pool is not warm, and the water is very cold. It is not explained on the hotel webpage. In addition, the tables outside are nice, but the gardens have a lot of mosquitoes, which limits your experience. The use of the internal garden is limited by gym time, too. The welcome drink is limited to a fruit juice in your room. So, while it's a nice hotel, it needs some improvements to make it a good Roman experience.

Regarding the pool and fitness area, access is managed through reservations due to the limited capacity of the wellness facilities, allowing all guests the opportunity to enjoy them comfortably. We understand that this may have been disappointing, and we appreciate your suggestion to make this information more visible on our website.
We also regret that the temperature of the pool did not meet your expectations. As for the garden, while we carry out regular pest control treatments, mosquitoes can unfortunately be more present during the summer months, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Quick trip to Rome was made super fun by my stay at Mama Shelia. Fabulous buffet breakfast, comfy bed, great roof top bar with amazing food & the indoor pool and sauna are just some of the great attributes of this place. Proximity to the metro really opens up the city for exploring. In a word…cool!
