Movenpick Doha Stay during F1 Race

A warm and friendly greeting awaits at this lovely hotel located near downtown Doha, about 15 mins drive from airport. Reception is welcoming, knowledgeable staff and well maintained in all areas including spa, pool and restaurant. The restaurant staff are eager to assist and the quality of food served is excellent in the buffet evening meals. and breakfast. The seafood is exceptional. I would like to say a special thanks for Urmila (“mom”) for taking care me and my son at breakfast, always helping and smiling. And praise to Roman too for his help to accommodate us for meals out of hours. The room in the hotel we were allocated faced the port, beautiful view. But I would say rooms need modernising to bring up to current hotel standards, walking showers etc. like the Movenpick we have stayed at Sousse and Marrakech. The bar is fairly busy, due to many guests like us who came to watch the F1 Qatar race, friendly and chatty. The popular area of Souk Waqif is 15 mins walk and the Qatar National Museum about 10 mins. The metro is next to Museum and very easy to use to get by. Taxis are cheap, as are Uber rides. Airport to hotel via blue taxis is around 45 QR. In summary great hotel, in great location, with genuinely friendly atmosphere and service. Would stay here again definitely.

Dissappointing

Check in was poor. The room I booked wasn't available and despite the membership upgrade the assigned room didn't work for me and the hotel couldn't provide another room. I used the restaurant for breakfast and again just like last time was order was taken (poached eggs) and never served to the table. It's really disappointing as a frequent Accor guest to stay in a good property but disappointed by the room and the staff lack of customer care

Seafood buffet with friends

The food was outstanding, tasty, clean area and affordable price. The personal was very welcoming particularly Mr. Abdou Roman, he was awesome, very nice and kind, I'd like to thank him. Overall was good experience and will probably come back.
