Too many issues

In a 4 night stay, we experienced serious issues with this hotel on nearly every day. There seemed to be problems with both the facilities and the training of the staff. I would not stay in this hotel again. For example, on our second or third day, we released the TV in our room did not work as it was missing an aerial connection and had not been installed properly. When reported, it appeared the staff already knew this was a problem but had not done anything about it. They did not send someone to even look at the TV. The only solution they offered was for us to move rooms. The TV apparently could not be replaced or repaired as the staff already knew it was missing required equipment which they did not have. On the third night of our stay, the elevator stopped working while I was inside. The fire brigade had to be called to rescue me and I was stuck in the elevator alone until after 1 am in the morning. The staff did not seem to know how to adequately respond to this issue and barely even acknowledged what had happened after. We requested and paid for a late check out for our final day. Despite this, the keys to our room were cut off at 10 am leaving us locked out of our room. We had to wait around for access to the room to be granted again. However, when we went out again, the keys for our room were cut off again leaving us locked out a second time. This time we had to wait for over half an hour while reception checked in other guests before we could get back into our room.

Well located, poor customer service

An overnight stay, the second time staying here. Both times I have made complaints which have been unresolved. On this occasion the check in the service advisor was rude and not welcoming. And appeared to be reciting a script. I advised calmly I had already paid and checked in online, to be met with if you don’t give me your debit card now I will not check you in. I kept my cool and said nothing. My friends also stayed here on the same trip and had a similar experience. I arrived in my room to be met with an overwhelming smell of damp. I complained about this on departure as on my arrival I was running late for an occasion, but whoever serviced this room should have been aware. I was staying for only one night, so was bearable but for a longer stay this would have been intolerable. I and my friends were accommodated in wheelchair accessible rooms, whilst this is to be commended that these rooms are available, none of us require these facilities (the last time we stayed I was also accommodated in a wheelchair accessible room, and complained ) at almost 6ft tall these are not suitable for my height, doubling over to wash hands unable to see in bathroom mirror without stooping over. I should have been advised on check in/ booking that this was the room being allocated to me. The light in my bathroom was not working the first time we stayed, I complained no one came to resolve it. On this occasion the toilet in my friends room would not flush my friends complained, someone was sent to attempt to fix it agreed it was broken, but said if you flushed the handle 3 times it would work a little bit, not acceptable advice. And finally the lighting in the bathrooms and room hallway needs to be improved it is far too dark. Whilst the rooms are large spacious, clean and well located I would seriously think about staying here in the future

I had 3 nights booked at the Adagio Glasgow Central. The TV was not working and the front of a drawer was lying separate on the worktop when I arrived - immediately went down to inform reception, where I was assured it would be fixed while I was out. Had to remind the staff twice more (once each day) before maintenance fixed these issues - so only had full amenities for the final nights stay. Dispensers in the bathroom were not working either. Rooms are nice and spacious, however, the toilet whistles loudly every time it is flushed and you can hear it from the neighbouring rooms as well so it is a bit annoying. Overall, the hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly, but I'm not sure I would rush back here due to the inconvenience of having multiple maintenance issues and having to remind the staff that these issues needed fixing.

Very nice overall, but I wish they understood the Accor loyalty programme.

Very nice and friendly professional staff, and I wish they knew how the Accor loyalty programme works as a gold member I do understand the late checkout process (subject to availability) however the previous hotels I stayed always offered a late checkout till 5pm, and room upgrade without asking, but I’d like to thank the staff for giving us late checkout till 1pm and very kind service from the morning reception team.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Perfect location for shopping & transport links. All staff were really helpful and friendly. Would recommend to others and can’t wait to return.
