Never again

Not for me this hotel. Never again. Arrived to the welcome "You have to pay now." Usually, you pay when you leave. Not the friendliest start. Was given a room on floor 7. I was dismayed to find it was like a prison cell (not that I've ever been, yet, in prison. The room is tiny, with a small slit of a window which looked out onto the a building probably a metre or two away. As a consequence there was scarcely any natural light. The walls were pitted and scarred and plenty of marks which should surely have been cleaned off had staff cared about it. The duvet cover was worn and split in multiple places lengthwise. The photo of the rooms on the website do not reflect the reality. As an Accor loyalty program member I complained to reception. The manager on site was courteous, explained the hotel was full that night but they would find a room with more light for the following two nights. They did so - the room was slightly tidier and certainly lighter. I decided not to inspect it more closely. It was still a tiny room with a number of inconveniences e.g. to flush the toilet, you had to put the seat down to reveal the flush button. There was little room to move around without moving something else. The provide the usual suitcase stand but there is nowhere to put it and leave your suitcase on it without climbing over the thing! I had paid for breakfast for three mornings but I felt I had been mugged. Limited choice, hot breakfast was poor - scrambled eggs looked like they had been dried out the day before, potato scone like leather - it was early in the morning so maybe it was yesterday's reheated. Anyway I didn't go back the next two days. The positives - I slept well. The bed was more comfortable than I had expected. Location is good being between the two rail stations, but the street is slightly squalid as many inner Glasgow streets are! But all in all a dismal experience that reflects badly on the management of the hotel and the Accor brand.

Extremely disappointing

A good hotel in a nice spot, however following my partner having a serious seizure in the hotel room and paramedics coming a can of juice was spilt. Little to no sympathy given for the situation and were charged damages for the juice spillage. Really upset with the service. Luckily my partner is okay but could have been a different story with a different outcome.

Breakfast rip-off warning -- and parking too!

The hotel was pretty nice -- clean and modern -- but the breakfast was a disgusting rip-off. It cost £11 each, or $14.21 each. Wouldn't you expect an actual cooked breakfast for that price? It was a pre-made buffet, which could still be nice if done well, but there were trays of food out (eggs, sausage, and mushrooms) that were stale and dried up. I am guessing they were about three hours old. I asked the employee at the front desk if any fresher food would be coming out, and he took a glance at a tray and said the food had been "topped off." It was so gross. My husband and I went with oatmeal containers for breakfast -- quite a deal for $28 dollars, right? They also had said that parking was included with the room, but the validation ticket they gave us didn't work, and they told us to buzz off when we inquired about that. Like I said, the hotel seemed pretty nice, but what a disappointment that they were out to rip-off their clients.

Great location, comfortable room.

This has always been my preferred hotel when I visit Glasgow because of the location, price and comfort. Disappointing expensive this time due to event in the city, but all hotels were. Some areas need a bit of a touch up. Breakfast is no longer included, a bit of a shame. Water pressure in the shower on the 8th floor is poor. All of the Staff are lovely, welcoming and helpful.

Good place nicely situated
