I enjoyed our stay at Peppers Port Douglas, beds were comfortable, facilities good, WiFi free which is awesome for kids with tablets etc! However felt some services weren’t what I would expect the level for 5 stars. I had daily room service in my package & expected given 5 start rating that this would include daily towels for all people in our room (3 provided for 4 people), bathrooms & floors cleaned daily & beds stripped 2nd daily. Whilst the rooms were reasonably clean & presented neatly .. the bathrooms cleaned, floors mopped & beds done once in the 5 night stay. I don’t wish to come across pretentious, but just felt that these little things made me feel that for my money it wasn’t quite standard in comparison to other 5 star resorts/hotels.

The cost of our accommodation was misrepresented to us at time of booking which was very disappointing. $950 for a week night stay is extremely steep given the quality of accommodation and service. Our room was tucked away in a corner and not as good as the other lagoon rooms. The service across the board, but especially at KoKo pool bar needs work. Staff are scruffy and unfriendly. The pool is nice but we can’t wait for overseas travel to reopen as it represents significantly better value for money, even throughout Europe and in other developed markets. We won’t return.

Fantastic location and very spacious apartment

We loved our stay at Peppers and will definitely come back. A short walk into town or to the beach and the apartment had everything we needed for a week away. The pool access deck made it easy to wake up and read by the pool before a swim. It was perfect. The only thing missing was a swim up bar.

My room had many faults including: - a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom on arrival - no cushions on balcony chairs - unwashed pans - safe that didn’t work - speakers that didn’t work - aircon that didn’t work causing us to be replayed to a very small room of a lower calibre than we paid for for a night - very late housekeeping causing us to make a formal request for early cleaning The dining experience also had faults including very late meals and incorrect food and drinks being served. Overall I was not relaxed, and feel as if I wasted a lot of money during a peak period for a reputation that did not deliver.

excellent location and amazing staff

The level of service was outstanding, Gavin spent an incredible amount of time helping arrange transport to the ferry terminal and when it was looking more and more unlikely, he made it happen. A few hours after leaving checking out we realised my son had left his beloved helmet behind along with a small toy, I called up and I don't know which lady I spoke to, but she arranged to have them delivered to our new hotel in Cairns personally as a manager of another local hotel was travelling there. The look of delight on my son's face when we collected it from reception in Cairns was just priceless. So, to the lady that did this, please know you made a little boy very very happy, thank you.

Incredible Stay! Great Location! Awesome Atmosphere!

Our favourite Port Douglas accomodation! Perfectly positioned to everything PD has to offer, each room has it's own individual outlook whether you are catching a glimpse of the pool or greenery! The pool is the perfect place to unwind whether you are a couple or a family ; not to mention the cocktails and food which are DELICIOUS! Breakfast & coffee options are perfect and make dining 'in house' as pleasing as eating out! We recommend to every local friend and visiting family - our favourite PD accommodation by far!

Why would you stay at this resort? Nice pool with good location and that’s where it finishes, the service is as poor as I’ve ever experienced, no such thing a pool side service, house keeping poor at best and most front desk staff with the exception of Gavin aren’t friendly, one lady (Sharon) I think is just plain rude. The bar and restaurant staff have been personally picked from people who hate the hospitality sector, just poor poor service without a smile. I’m not on TripAdvisor or any of them sites, but this stay might make me join and give my thoughts

We love returning to Peppers Port Douglas year after year. It is in walking distance to the main street as well as the 4 mile beach. It has become our home away from home.

Great location and really good sized apartment. The pool was a great place to relax when we were not out and about on tours.

Poor access

Customer review rating 4.4/5

Anonymous Couples - 06/01/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

Two issues: waited 2hrs for room service and told the order was lost not placed. There was no undercover access to the room, the stair between floors was often flooded and water flooded on the path needed to access the building. It rains a lot in Port Douglas and this seems a significant oversight.

Rude service, bad pool

Hally Couples - 06/01/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

Had a bad experience, original room was not up to scratch with something disgusting in their was not offered a upgrade just free Brekky for the 3days. The breakfast was bad, not 5 star not even 4 star. I get that it was COVID so no buffet but the menu was sooo limited and the drinks were not made to order they literally had 1 orange juice and 1 apple juice stand which was always finished by the time we got there. The room is tiny the spa in the balcony is unnecessary. The pool is very dangerous it has a 2m dip I saw 2 kids nearly drown it was too deep for adults the concrete in the pool made me and my hubby bleed twice, when asking for a bandaid we were told to go up to reception and then later seeing there was a first aid kit at the pool bar, it’s not really a pool bar because it’s not in the pool and no one comes to take your order you have to get out of the pool. The stuff has attitude and we’re not helpful when ringing the front desk for an item or room service (again very limited menu) the house cleaning doesn’t come till 3pm and they don’t change ur bed sheets.

Marina O. Couples - 04/01/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

Overall a good 3 night stay but an 0.88c charge to leave our bags for 3 hours until departure was quite odd and annoying. No Hotel has ever charged for this service - This was very odd and I could not understand this cost. Penny pinching at its best. Get rid of that charge. The only eating area was a pool bar and eating area. No restaurant really
