Overall Peppers was great. The grounds and reception were well kept and welcoming. The aesthetic was calming and classic Queensland vibes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always had a smile to share. Location was a huge plus. A small walk out the back gate and you’re at Four Mile Beach, short stroll and you’re at the main town strip. We booked a lagoon room which I highly recommend. Gratefully we did not have anyone stay in the room next to us as our deck and pool access was right in front of their room which would be quite uncomfortable with no privacy. The pool was a wonderful size and depth for all ages but was often so warm it was more like a spa than a refreshing dip. Breakfast was lovely by the pool. Good selection, something for everyone. Room had washer and dryer which was fantastic. We could pack light and always have fresh clothes. Overall we would recommend Peppers and would stay here again.

-our bags where not carried the long way to the rooms including stairs, even though one person tried to do that without success. The whole place felt a bit outdated, not renovated for a while, not clean everywhere. The walk way from our rooms to the pool was via a garage entry. This ”beach hotel” does not even have a sea view, but some sand in the pool. The restaurant was closed when we arrived at 5 pm. I think in general the hotel was undermanned, like in total three persons working when we arrived. Based on the price we paid I think it was a disappointing experience.

My partner and I live in Cairns and we wanted a little ‘staycation’ before I went overseas for a long period. We booked a spa room but unfortunately the spa wasn’t private enough to use. While Peppers is probably a great spot for families, I wouldn’t recommend it for couples. The screaming/crying kids in the pool and youth doing bomb dives and making loads of noise after dark made the pool a very unappealing place to be, which is a shame because I was looking forward to using it. My partner and I shared a burger at the restaurant, which was good but the beer and wine selection there is seriously lacking. The room was okay but quite dated. The bed was seriously uncomfortable and I struggled to sleep both nights. By the end of our stay, I was really looking forward to being home. I wouldn’t stay at this Peppers again.
