very good to stay at as had large extended family also staying there. Breakfast buffet was well presented and great range. Staff all extremely helpful. Housekeeping needs to improve, slow in room cleaning, took till several phone calls and reception staff to get room cleaned by 4.30pm on one day. No towels and had to give us pool towels to use as had run out of room towels. On arrival was told bags would be taken to room and when room was available had to return and get bags ourselves. Lady in reception was unhappy when we found bags had not been put into secure storage and had not been taken to room as promised. Did not even organise that would get them taken to room, had to do ourselves. Was not a great start to the stay.

We recently stayed at Pullman Port Douglas after hearing so many great recommendations, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Our room wasn't the one we had specifically booked (with a balcony and jacuzzi). We were only told it had been changed after I queried it at reception, where it was described as an "upgrade"—without any prior notification. The cleanliness was below standard and my kids found mouldy chips underneath the sofa. Housekeeping was also missed despite our request, leaving us with dirty, wet towels due to what was explained as a misunderstanding. Pool towels were often unavailable, which was surprising for a resort of this standard. We also paid for the daily buffet breakfast, but the selection was identical every day for our five-night stay. Service was slow, dishes frequently ran empty, and we often had to ask staff to replenish them. Overall, the resort didn't live up to the reputation or expectations, and there is definitely room for improvement.
