We had a one bedroom apartment overlooking Grant St. The apartment was clean but dated with old furniture. There was a Spa bath on the balcony which did not work. The television was so tiny that you could barely see it from the couch.

I had to make a very quick trip to Port Douglas for a funeral. The Mantra Village was available, reasonably priced and very well located. The communication via text was friendly and helpful. The staff were flexible with my check-in time. My room was tidy and really central andbjust what I needed after an overnight flight.

I suffer from PTSD so called to ask which of the three 3 Mantra properties for an overnight stay before a fishing trip. I explained was looking for a quiet room and a lovely woman suggested the Village. I explained price wasn't an issue and she said those be the best option. Unfortunately - the room that was allocated - which was very nice - was directly over a bar with 4 trees filled with chirping birds so it was anything but quiet. These 3 properties are managed offsite so a phone call to an after hours service was completely unsatisfactory and the people I. The phone were anything but helpful. They made me feel like I was wrong and lied that they didn't have anything g else available whe. There were multiple empty rooms in the property. They finally moved me to an old and outdated room that was quiet but not very nice. I was happy to pay more but that was ignored and when I asked to see before moving after 9 pm the person on the phone was extremely rude. Super poor service and for a lifelong business traveller being lied to about availability does not sit well. Courtesy, understanding and being polite goes a long way - brash, rude and constantly putting a customer in an extended hold is not acceptable
