Described as a resort hotel 4 * on the Accor platform. It isn't.. A very spacious room /s with good facilities however there is no service . Not once during our 6 night stay was reception open .. if you want anything you must use the phone & someone will come from another hotel. When I was booking a key criteria was a guest laundry ..6 days in the tropics visiting from UK & NZ one is needed .It definitely stated there was one but by the time we arrived the laundry was no longer ..No notification of this and the compendium for the hotel still indicated there was one . Only one laundromat in Port Douglas & its $10 per load ! Thanks to one of the staff after I complained we were given access to a washing machine in another room. Towels .. not refreshed daily .. one fresh set issued free of charge as we were staying 6 days ..Surely in the environment & without any washing/drying facilities a better service could be offered. Swimming pool is not at all appealing . Does not look at all like photos .. Needs work. Noise from the bar downstairs at night . The rooms definitely need a refresh ..

We live in the area but benefit from a refresh at your accommodation twice a year. We walk to local spots to eat and enjoy the local eateries close by. The location is ideal and the room provides the space we need to relax.

when I arrived, the overnight phone are was filthy. The phone was covered in greasy oils. On the first night when I went to bed, the linen smelt like bad body odour. The blanket and sheets smelt like they had been slept in recently. And I had a horrible sleep thinking about how filthy it smelt. I emailed the following morning and had someone change the linen, mostly improving the smell. However there was one pillow that was set in with the smell, and the pillow under the pillow case had a horrid smell of Body Odour - like a homeless person had been staying in the room, the smell was lingering. I felt rather gross the entire time being there.

We were comp upgraded to a 2 bedroom unit which made our stay more comfortable. The unit was a good size and perfect for relaxing.
