Our stay at Manta Aqueous was the definition of style over substance. The photos looked absolutely stunning online. Polished, spacious, serene. The kind of place you imagine pouring a drink and thinking, yes, I’ve made excellent life choices. Then we walked through the front door. The reality was wildly different. The beds literally separated in the middle of the night. Nothing says romantic getaway like falling into the crack between two mattresses at 2am like you’re being swallowed by tectonic plates. The water pressure was painfully slow. It took over an hour to fill the spa just to the minimum usable level. An hour. For a spa bath. By the time it was ready, the mood had packed its bags and left. We were so disappointed we forfeited a full night’s stay and paid to go somewhere more comfortable. That’s how bad it was. If you’re marketing luxury, at least deliver functional plumbing and a bed that behaves like a bed. I’d strongly recommend updating the listing with honest, current photos rather than heavily edited ones so guests have a realistic idea of what they’re actually booking. Port Douglas is beautiful. This experience was not.

Second time we've stayed here. Nice well equipped rooms and well worth booking a ground floor room with direct access to a pool. Easy walking distance to amenities. Thoroughly recommend.
