The hotel entrance was not very appealing due to ongoing construction work.

The hotel was clean and beautifully maintained, and all staff—from Reception and Housekeeping to Security and Maintenance—were courteous, helpful, and responsive. Even a minor AC issue late at night was attended to promptly. Having worked in five-star hospitality myself, I appreciate the small details that make a stay memorable, and SO/ Uptown Dubai truly delivered. Highly recommended, and we would definitely love to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the pleasure of staying at SO/ Uptown Dubai Hotel in JLT for two nights on a business trip, and the experience exceeded all my expectations. The rooms are beautifully designed, exceptionally comfortable, and equipped with excellent facilities that make both work and relaxation effortless. The buffet breakfast is outstanding, offering an impressive variety of delicious options to suit every taste. I also appreciated the generous 12:00 noon checkout time, which provides guests with valuable peace of mind instead of feeling rushed. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. Every member of staff—from the receptionists and front desk team to the restaurant staff and housekeeping—was consistently warm, friendly, helpful, and highly professional. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist made me feel welcome throughout my stay. SO/ Uptown Dubai Hotel delivers world-class hospitality in every respect. I would highly recommend it to both business and leisure travellers. In my opinion, this is not just a five-star hotel—it's five-star plus. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+

I had a pleasant and comfortable stay overall. The accommodation was clean, well maintained, and conveniently located. The staff were welcoming and helpful, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

The positives - the Portugese Restaurant Luna Lisa is outstanding. The not so positives - room service (order two nights) was underwhelming, reception (we are Diamond members) was underwhelming. Coffee on three mornings in a row in the lobby was not operational till closwe to 8am which is not ideal for a quick morning coffee sprint. Previous SO/ we've stayed out have been outstanding but due to the circular access up to sixth floor lobby via car is already offputting, the hotel needs to overdeliver to meet expectations. Currently it doesn't.

The hotel’s location was not ideal due to the ongoing construction work in the area. Entering and leaving the hotel was also very difficult and inconvenient. The breakfast was very average, and the spa was basic with no sauna. Getting from the lobby to the rooms was tiring and complicated.

Overall, I had a lovely stay. The room was comfortable, the staff were very helpful and responsive, and the service was excellent. The stay was booked for me as a relaxing birthday getaway, so I was really looking forward to having a peaceful time. Unfortunately, there was extremely loud shouting and arguing coming from the room next to mine, along with repeated loud banging on what sounded like a table or furniture. Everything could be clearly heard from my room, and the intensity of the situation genuinely made me feel unsafe and anxious, especially as I was staying alone. I became uncomfortable enough that I asked my friend to come over and stay with me for a while. I didn’t contact the hotel at the time because I was worried the neighboring guests might realize the complaint had come from me, and I also didn’t request a room change as I had already unpacked all my belongings. Aside from this incident, I genuinely enjoyed the hotel. The staff were attentive, the service was quick, and everything else about my stay was very good.

I had a very disappointing experience this time. My room was not ready until 6:00 PM, which caused me to lose almost my entire day. Because of the delay, I was unable to take my children out as planned, and we even missed our restaurant reservation. My children were upset, and we were all extremely tired after waiting for so long. What made the situation worse was the lack of understanding and support from the receptionist. She was not cooperative and did not seem to appreciate how frustrating and exhausting the delay was for us, especially with children. However, I would like to mention that this is not my first time staying with you. In fact, during almost every holiday, I make sure to book with your hotel because I have always had a good experience in the past. That is why this situation was particularly disappointing for me. It was the first time I experienced such poor service, and I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that the check-in process and guest support are improved in the future.

The hotel is one of the must visit hotels in Dubai. The room I stayed in was perfect in all aspects. The cleanliness, spacious room and bathroom. Every details were perfectly handled. Highly recommended

Everything fine except they forget my ceremony complementary cake

Overall, I had a good hotel experience but there were a few things that made this a 4/5 sort of experience. The first issue was that my hotel door wasn't very soundproofed and seemed poorly fitted. This meant I could hear everything said whenever someone walked past my room speaking with a friend or family member. The second issue was that on two occasions in the morning at 06:00am there was repetitive banging on my windows for over 15min. I assume this was due to the window cleaners' deployment ropes but it didn't make for a good start to the day. Third, I asked if an office chair could be used in my room so I could work and I had to follow up three times to get info about this. At the end of the day, they couldn't provide a chair — is fine, but I don't believe I should have had to follow-up on this.

Disappointing experience for a 5-star hotel – Would not recommend I had a bad stay at this hotel due to several issues, which is unacceptable for a 5-star property. First, the blankets in the room were not clean. Second, the reception staff takes a very long time to help or solve any problems. To make things worse, the sink drain hole was clogged and wouldn’t pull the water off. Even after reporting this, nobody came to help. Poor service and lack of cleanliness for this rating.

I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent five-night stay. I am providing this feedback because I genuinely care about the quality of tourism and customer service in the UAE, as well as the reputation of the hotel. At check-in, I specifically requested a lake-view room, and the receptionist confirmed that my request had been arranged. However, when I arrived at the room, I discovered that it had a marina view instead. This was disappointing, particularly because I had received clear confirmation at reception. Another major issue throughout my stay was the valet/car service. Almost every time I requested my car, I had to wait approximately 20–25 minutes. The room service was also consistently slow, despite my stay being during weekdays. Unfortunately, the situation became even more frustrating on my final day. I had an important meeting starting at 9:00 AM, so I informed the team and requested my car approximately 35 minutes in advance. Despite giving sufficient notice, my car was still not brought on time, which caused unnecessary stress and affected my schedule. In addition, on the final day I was unexpectedly requested to pay an additional amount without a clear explanation, which left me confused and extremely dissatisfied. I understand that delays or mistakes can occasionally happen, but experiencing several service issues repeatedly over a five-night stay is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. I sincerely hope management will review these concerns, particularly the valet service, communication with guests, room allocation, room-service response times, and clarity regarding additional charges. I am sharing this feedback constructively because I value the UAE’s hospitality standards and believe that guests should receive the level of service and professionalism that reflects the reputation of the country and the hotel.
