Cabana Room Stay - Relaxing!

TripAdvisor rating 5.0/5

Poliwhirl Couples - TripAdvisor review

We stayed 3 nights in an upper floor Cabana room. These are rooms, not individual cabanas with 4 rooms in each cabana block over two levels. The upper cabana room has an outdoor terrace with sofas and a table as well as a staircase down to a private pool wooden deck with 2 sun loungers. The ground floor cabana rooms seem to have only a terrace with sofas and table but no separate wooden deck. I guess the advantage of the lower level cabana room is that there is direct pool access from the terrace with no staircase to negotiate. The cabana pool itself is shared and meanders around other cabana blocks but ‘your’ area feels quite private as there is vegetation all around. The room itself is spacious with large and comfortable bed, big flatscreenTV, sofas, minibar fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle, aircon, robes, hairdryer, safe, ironing board (we didn’t seem to have an iron, but no worries we didn’t need it). The bathroom is also spacious with double sink/vanity setup, separate WC, walk-in shower and large jacuzzi bath (it takes a long time to sufficiently fill up). There’s another small terrace off the bathroom, good for drying clothes but not much else. The cabana rooms get access to the Mad Cow restaurant breakfast and I would definitely recommend this place if you want a quieter, less busy breakfast experience. Whilst maybe not the same range as the larger Salt & Pepper restaurant breakfast you get a good buffet choice (fruit, breads, cakes, yogurt, Asian and western cooked items, etc.), you also get a choice of (multiple if you like) a la carte items such as eggs, omelette, eggs Benedict, chargrilled chicken, pancakes, grilled tenderloin steak. You can also indulge in freshly made mango smoothies and the amazing coconut iced coffee. Watch out for the Vietnam iced milk coffee, it’s like rocket fuel but also very delicious! We also had a nice evening meal with a reasonably priced bottle of wine here. Big shout out to the super kind and friendly Chi who works there, such a sweet and helpful young lady. We were very lazy during our 3-night stay. We did venture out to Phu Quoc town for dinner one night and some killer cocktails, and we went to the AndoChine beach bar for sunset drinks. Other than that we lazed around the hotel. We really had a very relaxing stay.

The hotel is located in a short distance to the night market and the town. The shuttle bus was prompt and we had no problems moving around. The breakfast was fantastic with a great many choices.

Service: - Warm welcome with the usual cold towel and welcome drink from Pullman and Accor brand resorts. Stellar friendly service by the guy that facilitated my check-in while I sat on a sofa. Room: Get sea view rooms on main tower to have quiet rooms. Poolside rooms will have music blasting from the pool. Look at the photos... I went "Wow, wow" as the seaview room on a high floor meant we can watch lovely sunsets. And a bath tub to watch the sea views if you want (or shows on the large TV). Hotel facilities - Sprawling grounds with direct beach access. - Lovely large pool area and even a kids splash play zone. Food: at Salt n Pepper restaurant - Wide breakfast spread with pho and even banh mi (Vietnames rice noodles soup and sandwich station), along with the usual Western and some Korean, Japanese dishes. Freshly cut fruit with a fresh mango station with constant queue. And iced Vietnamese coffee to spoil us as we start the day. - lunch and dinner: tried the Pomelo Salad. Nice! And dinner of BBQ seafood of fresh local squid and oysters were good too. Spa: easy to book as it doesn't seem to be peak season. Reasonably hotel priced massages.
