The mini fridge in our room was broken. It was replaced, but the replacement barely worked. As a result, we had no choice but to order an ice bucket every day to keep drinks cold. We also noticed there were no kitchenette basics stocked in the room at all — simple items like a bottle opener or wine glasses were missing. Daily supplies were also inadequate for the number of guests in the room. Our booking was for two adults and one child, yet we were only provided with two bottles of water per day. Two coffee sachets and two sugars, etc which were only replaced if they were used. The same issue occurred with towels — only two were supplied daily — which meant we often had to find an extra towel ourselves from the cleaner trolleys. The bed was very large, which was nice, but it felt quite dated and extremely firm. All of the manchester in the room — including the doona, sheets, pillows, and towels — appeared very worn. Many items had visible discolouration or stains, which made them feel well past their best. The water temperature in the shower was another frustration. It only ever reached a warm temperature, whereas it really needs to be properly hot for a comfortable shower. The hotel overall feels quite dated and poorly maintained. Around the pools there are cracked tiles in many areas, and the decking near the upper/front reception pool is lifting in places. In one of our rooms there was also a section of loose flooring. Very dangerous and clearly visible hazards to be honest. In comparison to Best Western next door, Novotel had an inadequate amount of beach furniture (including lounge chairs and umbrellas) for the size of the hotel and the beach area we had access to. Best Western had an abundance of bean bags, lounge chairs, umbrellas and even small curtained gazebos for their customers to use! Novotel also lacked beach water play equipment. We viewed Best Western guests out on floaties. When we approached the hut containing the play equipment, only paddle boards were stocked... Overall, the property has potential with a great central location on the island and a night market with many restaurant options at the front, but the lack of maintenance and the condition of the room amenities made the stay far less comfortable than expected.

Night market is right in front of Novotel and is clean. Hotel service is 6 stars. Two pools at hotel and beach is next to pool. Nice hotel with a 1km jogging track around hotel, safe and clean

The rooms was super, very clean and had all you needed. The breakfast was just fantastic and all facilities was super. The staff was extremely serviceminded and we had a great stay. We did a huge mistake: we didn’t eat dinner at the resort, but on departure day we had lunch there and it was the best meal we had in Vietnam. A great chief!
