I genuinely cannot understand how Premier Residences Phu Quoc is rated as a 5-star hotel. Nothing about the experience compares favourably with other 5-star properties I’ve stayed in. As a Platinum member, where the expectation is that service should go above and beyond, it was even more disappointing to see the basics handled so poorly. Communication prior to arrival was weak. I contacted the hotel twice regarding scuba diving, which is listed on their website. The first response didn’t properly answer my question, and the second enquiry was ignored entirely. The airport transfer was significantly late, with no communication, explanation or apology. When I followed up via the hotel’s WhatsApp number, I was again ignored. To make matters worse, the taxi driver attempted to sell me his own services for the rest of my trip despite already being late. Check-in was chaotic and extremely inefficient. Each check-in appeared to take around 15 minutes, which felt excessive and poorly managed - again surprising given Platinum status is meant to offer a smoother arrival experience. The room itself was very basic with a poor layout. The bed was extremely uncomfortable - two single beds pushed together with multiple mattress topper sections, creating an uneven sleeping surface. For a “suite”, this was not what I expected. The balcony also lacked a deckchair, which feels like a very basic expectation at this level. Breakfast was okay at best. There were fresh cooking stations, which were fine, but much of the food was very basic. The overall experience felt chaotic, more like a conveyor belt than a relaxed 5-star breakfast. The pool area was okay, but there were not enough sunbeds for the number of guests. Many were left unused for hours with towels on them - something that could easily be better managed. The adults-only pool consistently had children in it, suggesting poor enforcement or unclear signage. Beach sunbeds were also tightly packed, and on multiple occasions none were available, resulting in me paying for a sunbed at a nearby beach restaurant instead. The staff didn’t do anything overtly wrong, but the service felt very transactional. There is clearly an opportunity for better training around guest experience. The one exception was the gentleman who showed me to my room - he was polite and welcoming. Finally, I was woken by a phone call from the spa after 10pm. I hadn’t used the spa at all and still don’t know why they called - contacting guests at that time without clear reason is completely unacceptable. Overall, this hotel falls well short of 5-star standards. For Platinum members in particular, this experience was disappointing and did not come close to the level of recognition or service promised. I would not recommend staying here at this price point.

Still staying with a night left to go. Check in was an ok experience, after being told to wait 10 minutes so I could go with my bags rather than the bags coming to my room afterwards. E block where the king rooms are located is very old and rooms have alot of wear and tear and would be a 3/4 star at best. The vast majority of the staff cannot speak English and rely on Google Translate. Speaking of staff, they are very understaffed and they look quite miserable. Breakfast is just absolute chaos. Anybody can walk in here and take a seat and sit down. Every staff member hee is just filling up food. No greeting from anybody and they actually just barge past you yo get to where they are going. Nobody asks you about allergies either. Coffee and juices taste very cheap and are of poor quality. Food is OK. There are simply not enough loungers around the pool and beachside, and it involves a morning run to get one, if that's your thing. The food and drink prices here compared to the rest Vitenam is very expensive. Many people get food and drink from across the road and bring it in. Foam party and kids car racing all chargeable. Half of the pool area closed for some reason and no explanation. The place is not what quite what it seems on the photos. Save your money and book elsewhere in this island. Glad we are only here for 3 nights.

So wonderful I immediately make plans to return, and did.

I am back. So this review comes ONE FULL YEAR LATE. We visited early Dec 2024 and was just blown away by the lovely hotel. Rooms, clean, spacious and decent. Only grib I have is the noisy air-conditioning unit outside the balcony which was very loud In room service food was amazing and reasonably price All the staff we encounted were very professional, helpful, patient and friendly. They made the experience even more pleasant Pool was spacious and playful for all age and sizes. The highlight for me is Khem beach which kept clean and tidy. We had a mild incident when my young kid was stung by an unknown insect but they they not have any first aid on-site and they sent us to a nearby military hospital?! It was quite traumatic experience but thank goodness it was not serious and we decined all "treatment" the hospital wanted to administer We had seafood dinner buffet at the club house and the spread and quality was very satisfying. Once again, great staff service too. Breakfast service was good and spread was very tasty and satisfactory. So tomorrow I will check in again but this time a bigger and nicer room and hope I will experience all the great joy and memories of this wonderful place. I look forward to the christmas buffet dinner and just chilling by Khem beach again. Dear Premier Residence Staff, looking forward to see you. ~MJ

I had a wonderful stay at Premier Residences Phu Quoc. The highlight of my experience was the warm and friendly service from Ha at the Front Office. She is petite, wears glasses, always has a lovely smile, and made me feel very welcomed throughout my stay. The hotel’s swimming pool is stunning and impressively long, perfect for relaxing or taking a refreshing swim. My room was simple but cozy, clean, and neatly arranged, which made it very comfortable. I also loved Bai Khem Beach — the sand is incredibly white and beautiful. There’s also a new beachside restaurant nearby (I forgot the name), but it has a very chill and relaxing vibe. It’s a great place to sit by the sea, enjoy a drink, and soak in the atmosphere. Overall, a great stay. I would definitely come back!

Comfy place to stay and chill

We stayed at Premier Residence from 2nd till 13th December 2025. Location: it is about 25 minutes from airport, less than hour from Duong Dong, and an hour from VinWorld (VinWonders and VinSafari). Near there are lots of small supermarkets and cafes. To the tourist town SUNSET you may get by free shuttle bus. The beach access for the hotel territory. Atmosphere is relaxed. The territory is huge so you easily find sunbed near the sea or pool ( the problem may appear only with umbrellas). You understand that the hotel is full when you are at breakfast, while during the day guests are distributed over the territory :) Lots of activities are available: I visited yoga and pilates at 7 am, when it was rainy we went to sauna. We played table tennis with a kid at playground zone. Our kid does love kid zone, lots of rooms to play. Rooms: we had standard room on the 8th floor in block E. We moved the small sofa to our bed for a six-years-old daughter and asked for additional bedclothes. Room cleaning was not perfect but ok. Sometimes you have to remind to fill shampoo, add third towel for a kid. The balcony fool is was not every day. The design and the comfort of the public zone we really liked. The hotel staff is helpful. What I recommend to improve: 2 towels for legs, more attention to the breakfast zone outside, more umbrellas on the beach.
