Shocking, anger and confusion

Dates of stay:17-19 July. 2024 Villa:510 and 511 The low rating is based on two unpleasant incidents occurred during our stay: 1. First night after check in, my parents who stayed in villa 511, found that the celing was leaking and there was water on the floor in the master bedroom. We told the hotel on our way out for dinner about the leaking. In the middle of our dinner, we receieved reply from the hotel saying that the cleaners didn't see any water on the floor. When we came back to the villa after dinner, the water was at exactly the same spot as we found it at the very beginning. After we informed the hotel again, two mechanics came and tried to figure out where the leaking was, we didn't know what they actually fixed or if they had fixed anything because both of them didn't understand English. We were then told by the concierge to wait for further notice until they found another villa for us to change. Unexpectedly, we waited for nearly a hour without any words from anyone. Then the duty manager Tony showed up, who was able to communicate with us in English. He appologized to us about the leaking and waiting first, and after some discussion we both agreed that it would be a good idea for he to open another bedroom in the villa as backup for my parents to use if the leaking contiunes before the hotel could move my parents to another villa. Thank you Tony. The director of operations Mr. Phan came to our table when we were having breakfast in the morning on the second day. He apologized to us about the endless waiting last night and kindly offered us a plate of fruits and a bottle of champine as compensation. 2. On the day we checked out, we came back from breakfast and there was still some time before the check out, so we decided to jump into our pools to relax a bit before we catch up the afternoon plane back to Taiwan. When we entered our villas, we were shocked by two gardeners who were in the same green uniforms in our villas. One of them is operating a grass cutter on the lawn in villa 510. Since the lawn is just 5 meters away from the pool side, the grass and small stones were flying everywhere near the pool. The other gardener was using a round net to pick up the leaf in the pool in villa 511 with the presence of my parents. The hotel should be proud of their beautiful villas and pools, but should not send gardeners into the villas and do their errands while the guests are using the facilities in their own space, in their own ways. This is not only a privacy issue, but also a safety manner as well. We immediately made a call to the front deak and the operator assured us that she would inform the gardeners to leave our villas. Waht happened next was that 10 minutes after the call, the gardners were still working on the lawn and the pool in ouir villas. When we returned our keys to the front desk at 11 am for check out, we were greeted by the front office mamager Ms. Xuan and we shared with her our concerns and anger. She looked shocked by what she heared from us. We must acknowledge that this is a beautiful hotel, green surrendings, nice pools and villas. During rainy seasons on this island, we can accept that there may be some leaking in the villas. We also understand it's not possible to fix leaking in a short time. We also know there may not be a vacant villa available for us to change at the night due to full occupancy. What we need is simple, just someone come to tell us what the possible solutions are, so that we can make decision. The last thing we need is to be kept blind, waiting for nothing, talking o nobody for nearly a hour close to midnight after a whole-day trip outside. The pool itself is relaxing, but nobody can really relax in the pools if there are strangers working on the grass cutters by the pool sides or picking up leafs while you are swimming. We had expected hight about this hotel, but sadly ended up with shocking, anger and confusion about what we had experienced here.

Nice family stay - 7 nights. First 2 nights on the hill with amazing views, last 5 in a beach villa - few steps from the beach and easy to walk to main pool and restaurants. Very smart with "all inclusive" coupons for the smaller children - they enjoyed the freedom and I enjoyed the reasonable cost :) Breakfast was very good with many options, but also a bit too busy (and hard to fully relax), and very little change day by day, and become a bit boring after 7 days. We mainly had dinner at the western restaurant, and quality was high - the best being the BBQ night, with amazing lobster etc. Improvement points: 1. English is not perfectly stoken, and there many misunderstanding, staff are however very nice. 2. The beach was amazing sandy with shallow water, however my oldest son and my wife both got hit by a fish with 5-10 cm spikes (son 4 spikes, wife 12 spikes with a lot of pain in the foot) and we all got nervous being in the water. We did not see any guest using shoes when swimming, but I suggest you do if you go there. 3. Logistics about buggies driving around the large area, was a bit annoying, chill and accept some waiting time especially peak hours. 4. Many resort activities, but many was cancelled short term e.g. fishing and we also exp no show, e.g. we were 5 at beach volley, and no staff came.
